Romanello's Restrnts

I had to post a newer review especially since there are a couple less than flattering. The service was friendly and impeccable without being annoying. The restaurant was spotless (including restrooms) and the linens were starched, clean and crisp white. The food was very good. We arrived early and took advantage of the "Dining for Two" option (all inclusive price which included soup served in a large tureen that was left at the table, salad, hot delicious bread, entrée, dessert, and beverage or wine). Both of us had the Manicotti, but the waiter said we could each get something different. They were very accommodating and graciously agreed to a special order item that was not on the menu. The sauce tasted fresh and the meatballs were good (perhaps pre-fab? but good). Later in the evening we drove by and the place was packed. I would highly recommend Romanello's. I know we'll be back! more

I have visited Romanello's on South Park several times over the years while in Hamburg on business and each time the quality of the food, and ESPECIALLY the service has been a little worse than the time before. There are not many choices for dining near the Fairgrounds, where Romanello's is located, and I suppose that's the only reason I have continued to return, although I swear this will be the last. Romanello's has the pretense of a better quality restaurant, ie white table cloths and waiters in black and white, but any similarity to quality ends there. From the iceberg lettuce salad, to the straight-from-the-can soup, to the packaged, take-out-of-the-freezer and heat entrées, Romanello's "cuisine" is mediocre at best. Unfortunately, that is more than can be said for the service. Be prepared to wait and wait for your food to arrive. If you want another drink or your water glass refilled you may have to tackle one of the waitpersons as they zip past your table avoiding eye contact. And prepare to pay an obligatory 20% gratuity if you are in a group. I wish I could think of something nice to say about Romanello's, but having just spent an extremely unpleasant evening there, I cannot think of one positive thing to share. more

Romanello's is a wonderful dining experience. They have the best surf and turf plate in the area. There is another one on Rhode Island Street in the city of Buffalo. They are both excellent. It is more of a fine dining atmosphere. But it is excellent. It's worth the money. I do believe I had to make reservations and there is a dress attire. They also cater a terrific wedding reception. more
