Rolf's at Gainey Village

I have been going to Ralph's salon off and on for 5 years. I get highlight, lowlights and cut. Not once have I received a proper cut, the only reason I kept going back is, they are supposed to be a redken product salon.\r The cut has never been right, no matter how many times I asked for what I liked, I brought photos including my own before I moved here. \r The stylests are tought one way to cut hair. As the years have gone on I did try a couple of other salons, which were just as bad. And then I found out they are no longer using redken products. Which they did not say a word about.\r I've finally had enough of their over priced bad cuts and now bad color.\r Anyone over 35 knows what a proper layering is, well Ralph's stylest do not.\r If you like the way they cut hair, then great for you. If you are frustrated! Please do yourself a favor and keep searching. \r Ralph's is a very stuck salon, and they no longer use the best color product.\r My hair is a very brassy red orange color and the stylest actually had the nerve to say no it's not! \r Redken is very high end with training and product, if you need a new salon I suggest looking up redken product salons, by searching Redken the site allowes you to search in your area.\r Do not settle for something your not happy with.\r Good luck in your search more

Please tell me where my stylist Sothy is. The staff at Rolf's were absolutely rude when I asked. I dont plan to go back to Rolfs so they arent losing a customer. They could create good will by letting me know where he is at instead of coming across as rude and desperate for business. more

I recently went to Rolf's in Scottsdale. I ended up going there because another salon messed up my color. I ended up seeing Tod Lavery. I was amazed by his professional attitude and calm demeanor. He assured me my hair would be fixed by the time I walked out of the salon. He stayed several hours past his work day to ensure that would happen. Not only was I pleased, but I was amazed. Tod gave me the best color and cut of my entire life. I read an earlier review and cannot believe a word this other person said. In fact, the earlier review mentioned Tod making a prejudiced remark, but I learned during our visit that he is in a bi-racial relationship. Anyways, I think he is an amazing hairdresser. I know one thing, as long as he is working in the valley--HE HAS A NEW CLIENT FOR LIFE. Pros: ALL PROS FOR ME... Cons: NONE. more

Ok if you are looking for a great place to get your hair done this could be the place for you. It is very nice and you have a huge chance of getting someone good but here are the pros and cons Cons: Front staff could be more genuine. My 12:00 appt was cancelled at 6:00 p.m. the night before. No offer for an alternate stylist, no apology. Went to Boxer's on Monroe and got a great cut. more

DO NOT SEE TODD IF YOU PLACE ANY VALUE ON YOUR HAIR OR YOUR DIGNITY AND SELF RESPECT. NOT ONLY IS HE RUDE AND EXTREMELY PRETENTIOUS TOT HE 10TH DEGREE BUT HE MADE INAPPPROPRIATE RACIAL REMARKS AND ALSO TRASHED SCOTTDALE WOMEN SAYING THEYRE SO FAKE AND OVERDONE. HE RUINED MY HAIR, MADE IT COMPLETELY LOPSIDED AND RAZORED IT ALLTHE WAY TO THE TOP OF MY HEAD BUT ONLY RAZORED ONE SIDE AND I WANTED A SHOULDER LENGTH BOB. IT WAS FRIZZY AND BADLY FRAYED. IM STILL GROWING IT OUT, ITS A DISATER. I HAVE A HUGE HOLE ON ONE SIDE WHERE ALL THE HAIR IS MISSING. WHEN I TOLD HIM IT WAS MESSED UP HE TOLD ME IT WAS MY PROBLEM NOT HIS. REFUSED TO APOLOGIZE AND WHEN I WENT TO MANGEMENT (LEIA) AND COMPLAINED AND REQUESTED A REFUND FOR THE DISASTEROUS LOOK AND HUMILITAION I HAD TO ENDURE, THE REFUNDED MY MONEY AND TOLD ME NOT TO COME BACK. ID LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TELL ROLF HOW THEY RUN HIS BUSINESS. IVE CONSIDERED GOING TO THE EXPO THIS YEAR JUST FOR THE OPPORTUNITY OF SHOWING HIM WHAT HS STAFF HAS MADE ME LOOK LIKE AND TO MENTION THE POOR SERVICE AFTERWARDS. THEY DO NOT VALUE THEIR CLIENTS, ONLY THE ONES WHO HAVE NEVER COMPLAINED DUE TO A BAD EXPERIENCE. I GUESS IF YOUR DIS-SATISFIED THEY THINK YOU SHOULD KEEP IT TO YOURSELF BUT KEEP GOING BACK AS WELL. IN ALL FAIRNESS IVE SEEN KENZIE PRIOR TO TODD AND SHES MAGNIFICENT BUT SINCE IVE BEEN ASKED NOT TO COME BACK I CANNOT GO TO HER ANYLONGER. My first experience with Rolf's was at the Annual Women's Expo. Rolf's is there every year and one year I got chosen by Rolf. Very nice man. He couldn't believe my hair. I have very thick kind of wavy hair and it was really long! I never have a clue what I want to do with my hair so I let it grow long, well he sent me to one of the stylists and she did an awsome job! Everyone loved it. Of course, the price of a cut at their salon made me wary of actually going on a regular basis, but I finally did last weekend and again with my long hair. Kenzie the stylist did an awesome job. I, again, had no clue what I wanted and I just told her what I thought would be nice (from pictures I've seen) and with her help she did it way better than I could've imagined and without cutting my hair too short! Well worth the money and when you think about it $45 is not that much for a GREAT hairdo. Now I'm going to try out their manicures and pedicures. Expensive, but hopefully you'll proof the term ""You get what you pay for"" correct in a good way! lol more

I was given a gift certificate to Rolfs for my birthday. Upon arriving at the salon I was greeted warmly by the receptionists, offered coffee and given a quick tour. The entire salon is lovely! Pros: Beautiful and comfortable with happy and pleasent Cons: none! more

I have to say that in the year and a half that I have been a client of Curtis Blue's it has never been a disappointment. Not only does he color, highlight, cut and style with expertise he is always professional and always on time. The stylists at this salon are very inexperienced. I have went to this saoln and had a bad hair experience twice. The first time I wanted to have my hair dyed a red color and it was dyed a dark brown. The last time I wanted to have soft curls put into my hair and I came out with an afro. I do not suggest this salon because the stylists cannot follow simple instructions!!!! more

I have always gone to Rolfs for my hair. The staff has been professinal & accomadating. I was recommended to thier top nail tech. This woman has been in the business for the last 25 years! She did my nails but seemed to be unable to take her attention off an obviously threatening co-worker! The other nail tech she spoke of seemed friendly & one of her clients was so excited she had to show off her gorgeous nails! My nail tech seemed unable to do anything but be rude & distasteful. She was obviously treatened by this young lady & her ability to accomodate her client. The younger nail tech actually saw my discomfort & mouthed an apology for her older counterpart. This 'lead' nail tech is going to lead Rolf's nail department right into nowhere! There seems to be room for only one great nail tech at Rolfs! I see Selena at Rolf's in Scottsdale. She offers excellent service and always makes me feel welcome. She also is VERY talented and even though I spend a little more on her cuts, they are always great and seem to last longer than a cheaper cut. I've also had some color done with her and the results have been fantastic. more

I waited almost an hour after checking in with the young unprofessional front desk staff that never acknowledged me or the fact that I was sitting out in the lobby for so long. When the stylist finally came out she was rude more interested in her friends drama over my hair. I turned to the stylist and said this was a waste of my time. I will not allow you to touch my hair. I was never given an apology this salon needs a attitude adjustment asap. Cons: late, rude, prices too high more

Accommodating atmosphere, talented stylists and a one-stop-shop for nails, message, waxing and more. Most importantly, I've been grateful for the consistently great haircuts and highlights I've gotten since my first visit to Rolf's. Granted, I go to a high level stylist so I pay for it but I pay for it with a smile and a great ""do."" more

Stylist was obviously having a bad day and wanted to take it out on my hair. She did not want to hear what I had to say. I had to wait a half hour to talk to the manager who apologized and offered to talk half off my bill. i feel that there are many other talented stylist out there who will appreciate my business.
