Rodeway Inn

While traveling with friends recently, we were directed to a Rodeway Inn for our free night for the 1-800-4choice program. I find it hard to believe that they would have a property lke this in their program. To say it was unsatsfactory is an understatement. We were given a "suite". We walked in to a room that smelled awful, the blanket that was sticking out from under the worn spread was brown around the edges. The hall had not been vacumned for some time. Frankly, it was nauseating. We returned the key to the office and told them we would not be staying. Now 1-800-4choilce is refusing to return the credits for the room. When trying to pursue this, we are on hold forever and then the line is disconnected. You can believe that I will be passing the word to everyone I know to never stay at a choice hotel if this cannot be resolved satisfactorily. more

The room I was given was horrible....dirty and had a bad odor. Would not recommend anyone staying there.....can't believe Choicehotels has them as one of their places. Can't believe they would suggest that one of their customers would consider staying in a place like this Rodeway Inn. more

One of the worst hotels I've ever seen in the USA.....looked like something from a 3rd world country.....room was nasty, dirty, and stinking. No way would I ever spend a night there....scarey. The bad thing was choice hotels took 10,000 of my points because I had a free night and refused to put them back in my account when I refused to stay there. Can't believe they have this hotel in their choice of hotels......makes me hesitant about trusting them to book anything by phone without seeing first. To give them a one star rating is over rating them. more

We just stayed here because it was suppose to be rated by downeast mag as a clean and remodeled motel, Wrong on both accounts, maybe some rooms are remodeled but not ours, the floor tile was yellow old fridge left in the room broken(They did put in a new ONE) but they need to remove the old one, Dark and dingy above ground pool loos like below ground in the web site and the maid forgot to clean our room twice PROS: They have new owners who hopefu;;y will fix it up , they were working on th CONS: more

When we moved to Maine seven years ago, we were without a home for the first two months. The kind folks at the Viking Inn allowed us to stay there at extended rates, and after a couple of weeks, they even moved us into an apartment they own. They went above and beyond what was necessary. As for the motel, it is spotless and well kept. Although in the heart of Brunswick, it is next to the woods and feels quiet and serene. There is a small garden area and swimming pool where visitors can mingle in the evenings. It is a pleasure to stay at the Viking. PROS: clean, well kept, great staff, helpful beyond measure CONS: none more
