I’m going to be blunt about the Ramada Inn of Sumter. Staying there is like taking a stride into the past … 30 years or more into the past. I spent some time “homeless” while waiting to close on a home purchase, and my first week and a half was spent there. The rooms were definitely outdated and in poor shape (the carpet is actually red, and the little table and chairs were incredibly old and wobbly). The breakfast buffet wasn’t anything to write home about, either. I couldn’t take it any more, so I checked out and stayed elsewhere. Fortunately, several other hotels have opened in the area; I recommend staying at any one of those instead.
