Best

This is a great diner and great decor-- if you are going to the Montrose one for dinner, there are waiting list at popular times-- but it is worth the wait -try kitchen sink omlet...

Cute lil Diner 5/13/2010

Don't come here expecting a filet mignon. It's just a cute lil diner with quick and easy meals. The atmosphere is really fun, and it's in the heart of montrose so there are a lot of different shops surrounding it. I like to get their chicken wings..super deelish! Pros: Great atmosphere, great area more

Bad Quality 2/2/2009

in my experience of going to rocky cola cafe was HORRIBLE! The service was okay but the quality of the meals were awful. First, the water tasted like it was tap water with a somewhat of a dirty cup. Second, my burger wasn't even cooked at all. I took one bite and saw ""fluid"" leaking out of it with every press to the patty. Finally, if you go there with young children, the waiters make a big fuss that if your child does not stop crying, we will have to ask you to leave. Pros: service Cons: everything else more

Everything is out of a can. No fresh cooked food at all. 7/15/2008

Everything on the menu is out of a can. Pros: On a beautiful street. Cons: Tasteless food. Just frozen and warmed or out of a can. more

Poor family service 7/26/2007

I grew up going to Rocky Cola Cafe...as a teenage I ended every CVHS activity with a trip there for fried zucchini and vanilla coke. BUT my trip there last week as a mother was a totally different experience. First of all, no changing table in the bathroom. Then I am sitting there with my baby who is breastfeeding and cooing and the manages walks over and tells me another customer is offended by your baby and you need to leave. So I left immediately...and the waiter chases me out to the street to write down my license number to call the police cause I didn't pay for my food. I tell him, I'll pay for my soup but you have got nerve asking me to pay after asking me to leave! Anyways, he walks inside with the credit card then comes back out with the slip for me to sign. He says he is sorry they asked me to go but the offended party wanted to relax. (mind yoiu the juke box was playing louder that my baby was cooing..it was the breastfeeding that annoyed these folks!) When I called the next day to complain to the owner they DID refund my cresit card for the meal BUT I would say this is not the best choice to bring young kids too. Pros: the staff will make sure all babies are quiet and bottlefed Cons: no changing table and babies must be quiet more

GREATEST omlet, and best shakes 10/2/2006

This is a great diner and great decor-- if you are going to the Montrose one for dinner, there are waiting list at popular times-- but it is worth the wait -try kitchen sink omlet, and brown cow shakes Pros: food Cons: parking more

As I native Montrosean, I can say I have enjoyed Rocky Cola for over 15 years. Growing up it was the place to meet friends. When I'd come home from college I'd still go back w/friends. Unlike Ruby's or Johnny Rocket's the meals come with fries and a salad for about the same as a comparable burger would cost. They have a fitness menu, that according to my diet restricted friend, is amazing and quite tasty. Not for a serious night of eating, but definitely a place to kick back and hang out with friends or the family in general. Service is good, if you are nice to the servers, they are very nice and accomodating to you. You get what you put out there. Good price for the food, which is usually over-priced elsewhere. Pros: Inexpensive, Quaint, Fitness Menu Cons: Crowded during events, Some obnoxious teens more

Intentionally Bad Service? 4/16/2005

I was really hoping to like this place. My wife and I are new to the area and trying to find some hot spots. The 50's Decor is fun. However we noticed that although we were next on the waiting list, other families that signed in after us were seated first. After every other guest was seated, then they seated us. Our waitress took our order, then disappeared for the remainder of the meal. After waiting five or six minutes, we got up and asked another waiter for our drink order. We noticed no one ever returned for refills. And we felt to embarrassed to keep asking. The food order took longer than expected, but wasn't too bad. If we had just had average service, this would have been a good experience. Unfortunately, the bad service ruined it for us. Pros: Lots of Menu Choices, Fun Atmosphere Cons: Laughably Bad Service, Poor Management more

When did ""Rocky"" go on vacation... 1/5/2005

In my opinion, a restaurants food can be just ok if even that and it could be something of a 'hole-in-da-wall'...but if the customer service is not up to par, fageta bou't it. The first time I went to this place it had great customer service, courteous waiters/waitresses, food to the table in a timely manner ect. But the last time (not been back again) we had all kinds of problems (melted to liquid malt shake, they replaced it with another one just like before among other issues), so much so that I had to leave a note and tell the manager (which did nothing about it). To top it off, I brought my parents. What a mistake. P.S. This place has also had an (in)famous guest, ex-president Bill Clinton. Pros: Low price Food, 50's decore Cons: , Not the best food more

Great place to take the kids. 9/13/2002

Rocky Cola is a great place to take kids/family - they have lots of seating and plenty of large booths. The kids are easily amused with crayons and the juke box. The food is so-so, passable but nothing to write home about. They do have some interesting menu items, like Buffalo burgers and sweet potato fries and they also have a separate ""fitness"" menu with healtheir selections and a nutrition analysis for each item. Pros: fitness menu, good parking, good for kids Cons: so-so food more

Good Lunch 8/30/2002

I went here for lunch. The veggie burger was tasty, big portion. The ice cream sunday was great also big portion. Service was above average. I would recommend this place to a friend for informal dinning. more

Great diner fare 7/10/2002

The burgers, BLTs and classic dinner entrees (Chicken breast or steak, for example) are tasty and affordable. The diner also features plenty of desserts, shakes and flavored colas. Friendly service as well. Music, kids and teens can make this a load dining experience. Pros: Good desserts Cons: Can get loud more
