Robert. Kitay has been amazing. He was by my side through some very difficult, long and drawn out, high conflict child custody battles and it has always been almost as if a friend, not just an attorney. He always knows what to do and say and and he never backed down when things seemed impossible. He has always been understanding and patient with my family yet very aggressive and no nonsense with the other party. He fought hard and, though it was quite a process, the end outcome was most definitely favorable. I have nothing but great things to say about him. I have been with him since before he even started his own practice and I would never go to anyone else. more

Awful, incompetent, cost me thousands in his fees plus sanctions due to his mistakes/negligence. Late to court. Did not return repeated phone calls and emails. Completely insensitive to emotional impacts of divorce and custody. Takes Zero responsibility for his aggregious errors which cost his clients thousands and are due to incompetence or outright ignorance. Tries to pass blame on the judge (to me) and to me before the judge. Court transcripts clearly document the judge chastising him for ignoring letters and phones calls from opposing counsel for over three months to correct his error which revealed private info and should have been taken care of ""immediately- first thing NOT 5th or 20th"". (actual quote of the judge in the court transcripts.) 2 lawyers I consulted on my divorce each advised me to file a complaint with the state bar and consult a malpractice attorney. They each said they do not say this lightly and rarely urge action against another attorney. Mr. Kitay claims to have hundreds of satisfied clients. Perhaps he does, but why risk being one of the many you see in online reviews who have all had the same awful and costly legal nightmare of incompetent rude and highly damaging representation by Mr. Kitay. more

Whatever you do, do not hire this attorney. Robert Kitay not only botched my case by making a major oversight, when the case went to appeal he did not fully prepare, was in way over his head, and lost miserably. I was actually embarrassed sitting in the court of appeals listening to him get raked over by the judges. He tried to blame his mistakes on the judge who handled our case and at one point even blamed me for his mistakes. His arrogance is preceded only by his incompetence. He lied to me when asked if my ex could come after me for legal fees tied to the appeal and has cost me thousands upon thousands of dollars in legal fees. Whatever you do, DO NOT HIRE ROBERT KITAY TO BE YOUR ATTORNEY!!! more

We hired mister kitay to handle a very difficult family law matter. He worked very hard for us and was able to accomplish a lot. In fact, he was able to get primary custody of the children switched from the other parent to us. He was very professional at all times, as were his staff. He billed us appropriately for the work he performed, which included him and his staff responding to emails and phone calls. \r \r We don't know what the Sloy's (previous person's post)problem is, but it is clear he expected Mister Kitay and his staff to work for free without paying for services. Do not trust the posting of someone who expects this. He is probably a deadbeat who does not pay his or her bills, expects work for free, and is never satisfied regardless of the effort put forth on his behalf.\r more

The worst thing to experience is when you're already dealing with a situation such as family court/custody issues, and you have to deal with a law office that is inattentive to your needs, VERY unprofessional and rude, charges you for them having to respond to an e-mail, and most of all, they don't help you.
