Roasters Chicken Grill

We make frequent trips between San Antonio & Houston and are always looking for good food along the way. The GPS led us to Roosters Chicken Grill which is only a short jaunt off I-10 & well worth it. The owner took our order and was very helpful with ordering; as they have a very broad menu which includes more than chicken. I had the Chef's Salad with crispy fried chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, bacon & shredded cheese, served with fresh Ranch dressing made in-house. The chicken was very good & definitely not your run-of-the-mill frozen chicken patty. The salad very fresh! My husband had the grilled Chicken Club on a kaiser bun with fries. He said it was very tasty and still hot from the grill. Pros: Quality Food, clean dining room & restrooms. Cons: None\r We will definitely make this a new stop on our I-10 trips. more

We went here the last day of our trip, and I wish we had found it sooner. \r \r The man taking our order (i think he may have owned the place, or at least was a manager) was very friendly, and even knew where we were talking about when we told him where we were visting from (we were from 50 and 150 miles from home, both small towns). \r \r The food.... oh man! \r \r I ordered the chicken nachos (i think the ultimate chicken nachos, specifically) and my boyfriend ordered the chicken strips. Neither of us could finish our meal! It looked as if I barely made a dent in my plate... if we knew how big the portions were, we could have shared an order :-) so beware, they feed you well here! \r \r The price is not too bad either, about the same, if not a little less than any other sit down place you'd come across these days. kinda a hybrid between a sit down and a fast food place. you order like if you were getting fast food, but they bring it to your table on real plates.
