I was very pleased with Riviera. The workers contracted by Riviera were professional and experts in their specific areas. My pool was well designed , well constructed and it is just beautiful. I would highly recommend them. more

I signed a contract with Riviera on April 22nd.They broke ground on the pool the first of June. It is November 1 and my pool is incomplete (though it does have water in it), surface needs to be redone, pavers replaced, tile replaced, wrong jets installed, clean up isn't finished, heater is sitting non functional and they will keep telling me next week next week. They are big on talk but they can not deliver. I have had to ride them through the entire process and I attempted to fire them twice. Be warned breaking a Pool contract is very hard and I only found 1 company of nearly 20 I contacted that was willing to finish the work. Whatever company you sign with you are stuck with. I was given the personal word of Bill, the owner, that the pool would be completed October 1; It is now November 1 and the pool is still not done. They will make big promises to get all of your money but fail to deliver. I actually have a small amount owed to me that I can not get back. The total cost of my pool was $76,000 (64000 Pool 12000 enclosure). Read reviews and trust what they say. You may get lucky and be one of the few that get what they paid for, but are you willing to take that risk? I am taking the legal route to recoup and be made whole. I now have an over priced, non-functioning Pool with 0 warranty. Thanks Riviera A+++ (Sarcasm). I do want to point out the water guy Scott and the tile guy Eddie are top notch. They do genuinely care and tried their best to make up for all the other failures along the way. Unfortunately the hammer has to come from the top. more

The pool design was exactly what we wanted. The salesman, Tom W., was very professional and knowledgable. Took longer than we thought, but came out beautiful. more

I would absolutely recommend Riviera Pools! We love the end result of our pool and have nothing but wonderful things to say about all of the staff that we worked with. Each time we contacted them with a question or request, they responded quickly and appropriately. Our pool has been completed for several months now and they are still very responsive to our questions and any needs we may have. We had a great working relationship with all of the staff that we worked with - from sales, to accounting, project management, right up to the owner, Bill who all helped us create our dream outdoor space. Thank you, Riviera! more

Worst company ever, customer service is non existent and they will find every way possible to screw you out of what you thought was in your contract. They are both rude and incompetent - find another company more

I cannot recommend this company, they did a poor job and were not very nice while doing it more

We contracted Riviera pools to build a custom pool for us late last year. The pool began January 2nd, 2013 and was just completed. While the construction process took significantly longer than quoted or expected, the final product looks amazing. We went with most of the options that gave us as close to a maintenance free pool as possible.\r \r Here is what we have:\r * 6' Sun shelf for the kids, with a foam jet as a fountain in the middle\r * Spa with 8 jets.\r * 3' Sheer decent waterfall, with rosette water features on both sides\r * Solar system (has been great!)\r * A&A in-Floor cleaning system with dual skimmers, which was ideal, since we didn't get a screen enclosure. \r * Filter, heater and pumps are all Pentair, which has amazing support and knowledge of their products.\r * Grand Effects Fire Bowls on the corners, tied into the pool automation\r * Artistic Pavers \r * Holloway coping (the only thing I don't recommend that we purchased. The product took forever to get and is soft, so you have to be very careful with it)\r \r There were some hiccups, as with any construction project. We brought the issues up to them as they came up, and eventually everything was fixed to our satisfaction. The staff is always friendly and willing to talk. more

Terrible pool builder! Premium price, average craftsmanship and a total lack of respect for their customers. What you can expect from Riviera......crews that don't show up because the police have detained them, crews using your bushes and trees as their urinals, the decking Riviera installed collapsed after the first rain, the spa is nothing more than a bathtub, and after the owners PERSONAL GUARANTEE that they would finish/fix the punch out list by 5/25/13.... They no showed and didn't even call to reschedule the work. It took repeated calls to the office to get the owner to eventually man up and answer the phone. Use at your own risk! more

Not the builder to use. Poor comunication and service. Took over a year for an incomplete job. I would not recommend Riviera pools. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 3/8/2013

Very unorganized company. Took 2 months longer than we were told. Had several returns for lack of knowledge on the equipment they talk you into. Don't get fooled with their fancy estimates like we did. We should have went with our gut and went with Freestyle or Landmark. more

Great Warranty Service 10/4/2011

I purchased a Riviera Pool in 2008. They did a great job and I'm very happy with the pool. I'm writing this now to comment on their warranty service. Over the past few years I had a few pavers that settled. I ran into my sales guy at Publix and asked him who I could get to fix it. He told me that he thought that I could get the work done under warranty. They came out a week later and reset my pavers. Almost three years later they still took care of my pool. Great warranty service! Thanks Riviera Pools! more

Great job! 3/31/2011

I built a pool and spa with Riviera Pools in 2010. They built me an awsome swimming pool. They installed their Rivenergy circulation system and it rocks!. I purchased the Quick Clean system and I haven't had to vacuum my pool yet. My salesperson was very knowledgeable, much more than the other builders that we got quotes from. They wern't the cheapest but I feel that I got a great value. I would recommend them to anybody. more

Quality craftsmanship, poor customer service 8/24/2010

We had a pool beautiful built this year, with spa and screen. It was started in December and finally finished in May. The construction was much slower than anticipated, but the materials and construction are of excellent quality. Everyone comments on how beautiful our pool looks. There have been some issues that have taken some time to get resolved. But these issues, as I have learned, took longer to get resolved for two reasons: 1) lack of communication (I was not making sure my requests reached the appropriate people) and 2) my pool has a gremlin! Something doesn't work for us, we watch it, fiddle with it, turn the system on/off.... to no avail. We finally give in and call about the problem. When the tech comes out to fix the problem, the pool is miraculously working. It is maddening. After I have given Riviera a hard time because of time spent trying to trouble-shoot and waiting for someone to come out, I look stupid because the pool is all of a sudden working... But what can you do?? Technology can be maddening. Bottom line, Riviera stands behind their products, and when the correct people know that you are having a problem, everything will be done to fix it. They build an excellent, beautiful pool. Just keep the communication lines open, and if you feel you are not getting the service you should, make sure the owners of Riviera are aware of your problems. Unlike some pool companies I have heard nightmare stories about, Riviera does return your calls and will follow through until you are satisfied. more

Excellent pool designer and builder 3/30/2010

We recently had a Pool, spa, and screen enclosure installed by Riviera Pools of Tampa Florida. Our pool is a custom design free form with: the Rivenergy efficiency package (2 inch plumbing and 60 sq ft filter); the self cleaning system, a paver deck, a remote control system and a custom screen enclosure. Based on our experience, Riviera Pools did a quality design and executed the design using quality materials and excellent workmanship at a fair price. We observed all aspects of the construction and noted that all of the workers (Riviera employees and contractors) were knowledgeable in their trade and conscientious in their work. The materials used in the construction were all quality products and brand names. We are very happy with our pool and spa. We strongly recommend Riviera Pools as a quality pool builder. Pros: Quality people and product more

Great pool in South Tampa 11/4/2009

Bob Albano was our sales guy, he did a great job of explaining the process, designing the pool and keeping us informed every step of the way. We ran into the rainy season as well as an artesian well...it took a while to pump everything dry, but Riviera got everything under control and did the pool the right way...no cracks. no leaks. I highly recommend these guys. Pros: Beautiful pool, very happy with end result. Cons: Project Managers could do a better job commuicating status. more

happy! first pool 9/9/2008

What can I say? I'm happy with Riviera. I had no idea what design I wanted, but the designer came to my house with pictures and in less than an hour, she drew up the perfect plan. Had to make some minor adjustments for my budget, but no big deal. By the way, i shopped around!!! I found their prices to be the same as everyone else's, but there are some extras in their package that I noticed the others were not giving, like child safety preparations for one. Pros: value, dependable, professional, hard working people, customer relations more

Cannot ask for a better pool company! 8/20/2008

These guys build such a quality pool! Everything from my equipment to the tile job is top notch. We got more than expected. I had to take a minute to write this review because I'm just that pleased with my entire experience. The job was actually finished almost a week early, just in time for my son's birthday in March. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool all summer and are very grateful to have had an awesome builder. Oh, and another huge bonus- my electric bill hardly went up because of the special pump and circulation system. Also, hardly any maintenance, go with the salt water. I highly recommend Riviera Pools! Pros: quality, value, integrity, warranty, staff, energy efficency more
