Our only problem was finding a doctor or someone who would tell us what was really going on. Also, the residents would sometimes start awkward conversations with us (the family) in front of the patient--like whether or not to resuscitate or entubate. This should have been handled in private. more

Bring your check book! Last fall I took my husband to the ER with stomach pains and uncontrollable vomiting. While being treated with anti-nausea medicine and pain killers, someone from the hospital staff came into the room asking how he would like to pay our insurance co-pay. I was appalled that any hospital would attempt to get a payment out of someone medically not able to make informed decisions. I really hope that practice doesn't go on when people are alone in the ER and don't have anyone there to deal with aggressive billing.\r \r As a side note, after a follow-up surgery, the hospital entered our address incorrectly and sent two bills to the wrong address. The 2nd was after they called my husband and he asked to confirm if the address was correct. (it wasn't). more

My ex wife was sent to this hospital by life flight helicopter and been on life support there over two weeks , she had pneumonia both lungs and MRSA with blood stream infection from the MRSA and complications of that also, they have done a fine job taking care of her and she seems to be on to recovering thank God and all the doctors, nurses, specialists, and other staff there doing their duty. I'm satisfied with the hospital overall but being there at one of the times that I visited and a nurse explaining to me what to be prepaired for during my ex wifes recovery goes like this ..Katie RN nurse says : She may be in a nursing home for 6 months ! Craig says : 6 months is not all so long ... Katie says : Do you know what it is like being in a nursing home ? Craig says : .. well yes I have visited nursing homes before and my ex wife worked in nursing homes during most of her working years.. my ex wife has good medical coverage from working at nursing homes also..This helps her now ICU ..it is expensive ! ..ok ..What is her point to me ? Do I have a choice here .. let my ex wifes kids sign a DNR do not resusitate ..No.. she is responsive to me and the nurses now see this and she may recover .. SO Katie if you read this I would talk to patients or family and friends like a professional RN and not like the way you did to us.. I know you may be very Qualified as a NR and doing a great job but try be more friendly please. I had asked my ex wife if she wanted to survive and recover and she had already moved her head to say yes to me.. So what nursing homes are not all so great .. its peoples attitude that makes a difference also, so I hope you remember that and be a better nurse like some of the other ones that I met there at Riverside Methodist Hospital , I was so very proud of some them they were professional like and intelligent with knowledge being serious yet friendly in their own way.. something you need to work on yourself Katie ..its my personal experience and my own opinion ... This is a good hospital folks its just little things like certain individual nurses that could make it a little better. They may express their own opinion to you like that and its not important at all to others or like me listening to her ..there were other issues with this RN that I could go on about but its beyond the just coz facts to publish here. It was not only me who has been disturbed about this RN but also other family members and friends who also complained how this nurse was acting and talking.. We just hope that this hospital will be aware of what is going on and take the action to resolve the problems such as this and hopefully prevent it in the future .. I care for all of Gods children and that may be you who is reading this ! .... I still say this hospital is great and there was a miracle took place here which I must say includes God and the power which prayers did help along the way.. sorry it caused a turn around with my ex wife and the hospital and confussion but I'm happy and satisfied.. My advice to anyone who needs loved ones to be taken care of is to be alert and also pray to Lord God as I did to get my satisfaction and faith which will heal . My story here is cut short to get the point made to others who may want to know more but as is for now at least I try. Be there for your loved ones Gods work is within all of us together...Craig more
