the food is pathetic. it is always dry and i have never had a good meal there. i try to give buisness to the local restaraunts around my home, but i will not go back there again. ...

KC's Downtown Brewery 2/14/2006

Located in the center of the thriving River Market's hot area, at 5th and Walnut, the RMBC is another of KC's bars that is more restaurant than bar, spatially speaking. However, patrons are welcome to sit wherever they like, whether they are eating or not. The food, with some notable exceptions(like the 16-oz KC Strip) is standard American bar fare. The dining area is smoke-free, which is pleasant after walking through the smoky bar area. Pints of hand-crafted beer made in the brewery's visible brewhouse runs for only $3 a draw, and usually includes something unique. more

Great beer and food 9/28/2005

Another place where the wait service lets them down. The beer is wonderful and the appetizers are great. The nachos are such a large plate that there is plenty to share. Service is slow and at times the wait staff can be surly almost to the point of being rude. The brewery has good atmosphere and I would go more often if it wasn't for the thought of the poor service more

The selection of beer seems to be vast here. The place is good to enjoy appetizers and drinks among friends. It's usually nice and loud. This is more like a neighborhood bar. It's located in the City Market, which is a pretty neat place to be in itself. It's right on the corner and parking is not too hard to find. more

The River Market Brews - Review 8/13/2005

History - The River Market Brewing Company, downtown's first brewery since prohibition, was founded in 1994. Cool atmosphere and Great beer and food! The waiters were attentive and made sure I had a cold beer to drink while we were all enjoying the entertainment... live bands throughout the week and weekend's. you've got it all! 2 thumbs up! more
