Great spot to visit or frequent! 1/1/2007

I drove past this place weekly when I lived near Ormond Beach and after I tried it out I was hooked. The next week I took a bunch of my friends there and it became our weekly (if not nightly) hang out. The beer and margarita specials are unbeatable--where else can you get Yuengling for $1 and margaritas for $3? The cheap drinks are compensated for with somewhat expensive appetizers (not much under $10) and main courses (not much under $15). Even so, the crab dip is the best I've ever had, the datil pepper 'gator bites are unbelievably good, and the cajun grouper po'boy is better than any I had living in Lousiana. Another reviewer complained of how hot the dishes were and all of the hot dishes clearly dilineate cajun spices or peppers used in preparation and the cooks will adjust the spice level at your request. The only bad experience I had there was on Mother's Day when they limited their menu to a few expensive and bland items and jacked up the price. The bar staff is very friendly and after six months of going there we were all pretty much family. Pros: Great Food, Great Drinks, Great Atmosphere, Great Location Cons: A little on the pricy side for food more

The Best Place in Town 9/2/2006

I was in town for a week and we found this place the day before we left. Too bad, because it's exactly what we were looking for-relaxed atmosphere, great seafood, good prices. I didn't want to do franchises, so we went to a lot of dives (and expensive foufou places!) before we ate here. The crabcakes were awesome, it had a nice spicy roumalade that was also great on the shrimp. I'm not a fan of rice, but their beans and rice were great. We ate there again the next day, if we'd stayed longer, we would have run through the whole menu. more

Good seafood in a Bayou setting. 11/16/2005

This is a great Cajun spot right on the Tomoka River. ""Captain Franks Cracker style Platter for 2"" is a wonderful mountain of cajun style seafood that will stuff you silly! With crab, shrimp, crawfish, & veggies. It is a great value! more

This a a beautiful place located directly on the river however, the food is awful. We've been there several times and each time we left disappointed. The last time we were there my husband ordered a dish that was so hot he couln't eat it. The lady behind us ordered the same dish and sent it back! The portions are also small. and expensive. You have to look for the fish on your fish sandwich. Which was burned the first time we went. Pros: amibance, good parking Cons: price, quality, quantity more
