Since I was 10 years old (im nearly 39) I have been buying parts and bikes from River City Yamaha.\r
Although it was called ""Kootenai Saw and Cycle"" since the 1960s, the family decided to move to Post Falls and began with a new name, ""River City Yamaha"". Circa 1997.\r
One month ago, a decsion was made to stop all new retail sales on bikes.. No more Yamahas.. no more Bombardier's.. no boats, no waverunners/jammers.. no more 4 wheelers, no more roadbikes, no more snowmobiles, no more dual sports, no sport bikes or motocross bikes.\r
I am deeply saddened by this, and wish the family would still sell the Yamaha brand at the very least. Seeing how they have been great to Yamaha (and they to them) for so long and most importantly.. the community, this is indeed a huge loss.\r
Although I am happy River City Yamaha will continue to sell parts, accessories, have new chain saw sales and bike and saw service as well as do consignment on used machines, I again, am deeply disappointed that there will no longer be.. new Yamaha's for sale.\r
I am sure the family has thier reasons, the recession being one of them (although we are now coming out of it), I think that its still very sad to see the end of what I consider, an important part of this area's history.\r
I wish the family the best of luck (If someone from the family reads this, you know me as Jeff Gilleran and my brother Chris Lee) and maybe someday you guys can have the magic again and quite possibly, just sell Yamaha's, which made your company grow in the first place.\r
You guys have treated us with great respect, and im sure we aren't the only ones.\r
