Not worth the $$$ 8/31/2008

We ordered pizzas and drinks and an appitizer of Onion Rings... The Onion rings were good of course being almost like homemade however if your stomach can't handle greesy, that's what they are...more than atypical greesy, it was dripping off of them. The pizza is the best size for a person and looks and smells good but the outer crust was burned and the dough in the center was still raw. The greese also sat on top of the pizza that could soak napkins up. I would expect this from a mom and pop place not from a Brewery. Their slogan on their glasses also said ""You don't support your drinking but River City does"" I thought that very inappropriate for an establishment. I am not picky but River City motivated me to get online and write a review. Every situation will vary depending on the staff working at the time you arrive, I just wanted to inform of the experience my husband and I had. The service was okay but not $50.00 worth for two pizzas and two drinks. Pros: in house root beer home made onion rings Cons: too much money for the food and service more

Really great food, and nice owners 7/2/2008

All over it is a great place to dine. I can't wait to go back for dinner with the hubby. Pros: Brick oven pizza, service, quality food. more

They have a nice selection of lagers and ales. The food is always great, and so is the service. Best place to eat in the downtown mall. more

Great beer 5/24/2006

We drank beer at the River city Brewing company, after our mailman converntion this last weekend. My buddies and I had a great time, the beer was cold and very good. The Rueben sandwhich was very good also. We were visiting Sacramento from Torrance, Ca and looking for someplace like home. This place was just like home with better beer. We also have to thank Carole with an E, she had the good jokes and made our visit even better. Thanks again, Steve. Pros: Good beer , Good food, Good time more

Not your average bar food 1/15/2006

My friends took me there for dinner last weekend, and I've got to say the food was excellent. I had half a hamburger w/ fries, and half of the chicken and cheese ravioli... yummy all around. The beer wasn't so great (ironic, right?), but that's probably because they were out of their 2 most popular. By the way, if the HAMBURGER isn't on the menu, just ask for it. They'll make it! Pros: Food, Seating, Location Cons: Slow Service, Loud, Price more

ask for Shanee 11/28/2005

I dined for lunch at River City while shopping at the Sacramento mall. I was very stressed out and in a hurry. I wanted to dine at a restaraunt, not the food court. I was greeted by a very friendly hostess, and seated within minutes in Shanee's section. I was by myself so I felt a little odd being at a restaraunt. Shanee was extremely attentive to my needs and made my experience very enjoyable! He even reminded me to validate my parking. Thank you Shanee, I'll request you next time! more

Hamburgers? 11/17/2003

Everyone is talking about the hamburgers? I went at night & there were not hamburgers! You could get a small mini pizza for $15.00, the dinner menu was very limited & starts at $15.00, the beer is great, service slow though, you can see empty tables & they still will give you a 30 minute wait. You can see some college guys but mainly the business man or woman who unwind after work, I saw a lot of upscale singles here. Pros: upscale, Beer, crowded Cons: pricey, limited dinner menu, service more

Lousy Service 9/24/2003

Food is above average for brewery. Nice menu with seasonal specials. Calamari salad is good, hamburgers are huge and tasty. Ceasar is nothing special. Soups are good. But the service is lousy each and every time I go there. Not attentive on drinks and don't check back with you to see if everything is okay or if you need anything in addition to what was served. more

I just returned from a trip up north and was fortunate enough to have someone recommend this restaurant to me. Everything we ate was excellent and even though not geared towards children, my two young ones were very happy with their dinner and mine! I would go back just for the potabello fritters! Pros: excellent food, fast service more

Hamburgers from Heaven 8/10/2002

I was amazed at how quickly bread and drinks were brought to our table until we received our meals. This was excellent. Then, I was astounded at how delicious the hamburger was I had ordered. I honestly have to admit I have never ate a better hamburger.The bread, the diet cokes and hamburger made my day. I went up and complimented the cooks and this is not something I usually do. I am usually picky. Pros: Great environment, Nice wait people., convenient location. Cons: Maybe more booths. more
