My wife and I ate at River City Friday night before the Royal Horse Show at Intrust. River City is our favorite restaurant downtown. This time was pretty bad, we were finishing our meal and already had our ticket (Thank God it waited til then) and the Sewer pipe above us spewed ??? in our meals and on my wife some. We notified the waitrest but she left and we didn't see her for a while so I paid (Even left a tip, not sure why I did that) and left. Just thought you should know this and if and when we come back we will make sure we are not under a sewer line. Still kind of freaking me out since I'm kind of phobic about cleanliness. more

Great Pizza 9/6/2011

I really enjoyed myself. The service was good - a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry, so that worked out well. We ended up staying all night and had a lot of fun with the staff. My pizza was delicious! Will be back for sure... more

Firkin Thursday Special 8/12/2011

Went here for the firkin special last night for the watermelon wheat, and stayed a while longer to try their darker beers. My friends and I ordered appetizers and just hung out. Liked the atmosphere, not really a family restaurant as it's geared towards drinking and the signs around are about drunkenness. Get there early as the firkin keg was gone in 45 minutes! more

Best beer and pizza in town 9/22/2008

Ok....occaisionally you'll get a young server who acts like they've been out too late the night before, so the service would only get 3 stars.......but........the beer is exceptional and I have tasted more kinds of beer than probably 99% of the beer drinkers out there. The IPA is excellent. The pizza is also very good. Go on Wed night when the beer and pizza is dirt cheap. L*id back atmosphere. Not so loud that you can't hear other people at the table talking. Definitely one of my favorite dining spots in Wichita. Pros: Beer, Beer, Beer, Beer and Pizza Cons: Average to sometimes below average service more

Great place to eat! Shining star in Old Town.... 11/16/2007

My husband and I recently intertained friends visiting us from Canada. We took them to River City Brewery in Old Town. My husband and I love to go there quite often. We find the food delicious, the staff is very friendly and attentive. My husband's favorite is the Fish and Chips, but I like most everything on the menu. Our friends loved the food, atmosphere, servers, etc....They are coming back in the Spring and plan to go there again.....For the Management of River City Brewery' KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Pros: Fun atmosphere, fabulous entertainment, friendly, good food. Cons: Not enough parking. more

Yuck! 5/28/2002
