I hired Skubiak & Rivas in August, 2013 to settle a traffic violation. I have never had a ticket and I did not know the process. They were very professional and friendly and assured me everything would be OK . They took my information and explained the process. I hired Skubiak & Rivas P A several months ago regarding my ticket. hiring them I spoke with Kiel 1 times, after this i hiring them to work for me. I was reccommended by a friend when I was mailed a ticket for running a red light. I was told what to do which was nothing concerning the ticket. I was notified a couple of months after that it was thrown out of court and my record was clear. I can not thank this firm enough. I know there is many different opinions about red light cameras... but this firm fought the ticket on the grounds it was unconstitutional and won. They are truly fighting for your rights and mine! more

I was charged with a DUI in September, I was terrified.. I was trying to figure out how I was going to pay for a lawyer, I called everyone I could find and they all hung up on me. Then I found Skubiak & Rivas, the only lawyers in town with a heart. They not only took my case but managed to get the best outcome possible in my case. I have no jail time and it will not effect my background. Being in the health field this was critical for me. I learned a hard lesson and wish no one has to learn this way. This firm is horrible and incompetent. LOST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS-DO NOT HIRE UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO THROW AWAY MONEY.\r \r I hired Skubiak & Rivas P A several months ago regarding my daughter's ticket. Prior to hiring them I spoke with Kiel 3 times and asked if the firm took tickets seriously, or simply sent someone inexperienced and pleaded everyone ""no contest"" thereby not having the ticket truly dismissed. Kiel told me that it was rare that the firm did not have the ticket entirely dismissed, especially if the person who received the ticket had no points. \r \r I also called the firm on 3other times to follow up on the ticket, as to when it was on the docket, and to speak with a real attorney to reiterate that you were not to plead ""nole."" Both Kiel and the receptionist adamantly refused to connect me to an actual attorney, advising that each could assist me without the benefit of transferring me to one of the firm attorneys.\r \r Well, apparently everyone outright lied. When the appropriate time came in direct opposition of my instructions, the firm pleaded nole - NOT ""not guilty"" as I had insisted upon. After that, instead of calling and to tell me what had occurred the firm simply sent a letter to an on campus mailbox - to a university student who is not even there.\r \r If I did not call again to follow up I would not even know that Skubiak & Rivas was untruthful, lazy, did not do their job accordingly, and there was a fee due to the Court prior to a certain date.\r \r On my end I am contacting the Florida Bar to determine if a formal complaint could be filed against the firm. Since Kiel is not an attorney I will simply advise someone in the firm of his ineffectualness. Additionally, I am also citing my dissatisfaction with the firm's untruthfulness on as many on line review areas as possible.
