I just returned from a night's stay at the Ritz Carlton/Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee. I was so impressed! I am not at all the "rustic lake" type person, but the Ritz Lodge lets you enjoy going to the lake in style! A great place for kids and adults, with all the amenities you'd expect from the Ritz Carlton name, and as an added bonus, the fun activities the lake provides.
However, this is not the place to vacation on a budget. Be prepared to eat all meals on site, unless you plan a daytime outing, or take your own food. The Ritz is nestled against the water away from civilization. However, there are 3 on site restaurants, as well as room service. This is definitely the place to go to splurge and enjoy!
