The food was nothing special at all. In fact I'd take Olive Garden over this place. There is FAR better Italian in LA. No reason to ever go here. Service and food are not worth th...

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!! 5/2/2007

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We love this place. My favorites?? The calamari, which is amazing, the sole is to die for and the ricotta cheescake- perfect way to seal the deal. My husband loves the bistecca (NY steak i believe)... and the bread pudding was the best I've ever had. I highly recommend this hot spot- we have quickly become loyal, regular customers. more

Best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles 4/20/2007

This is my and my wife's favorite Italian restaurant . Fabulous authentic dishes, fantastic service and the nicest owner you could ever want to meet (Claudio). Once you try it, you'll be hooked. Food like Grandma used to make on Sunday. Wonderful patio too. Pros: The entire experience more

A good addition to Ventura Blvd. 4/7/2007

Usually I don't go to Italian restaurant.....Pizza .....pasta....tomatoes....it's not my favorite food. Risotto impressed me in many ways : open kitchen....white table clothe....very nice patio....great service.....a nice basket of different breads + olive oil +basalmic vinegar ....now talking about the food....on my first visit I tried the ""bistecca""...a very nice steak grilled to perfection served over rice and a wine reduction ...I loved it......on my second visit I was tempted to order the same but I decided to try their Tuna and again it was a right choice.....being happy ...and relaxed ...I ordered a dessert......a sliced warm pear in a delicate sauce with a french vanilla ice cream on top ...served in a filo cup....what a treat!\r Overall ....a GREAT restaurant at the right price! Pros: great parking Cons: ? more

Great experience 2/7/2007

I took my Mom here for her birthday and we had a great time. The atmosphere was quaint and candle lit. The wine was fantastic and the service was good too. The food was delicious, the only complaint I heard was from the men that the portions were small but they agreed it was very good food and a great experience all around! My seafood linguini was awesome and not small in portion at all. Thanks for a good time! Pros: Great parking, friendly relaxed atmosphere. more

Consistently great Italian cuisine combined with great customer service. 1/29/2007

From the moment you enter Risotto, you are at home. Claudio, the owner, is wonderful, greeting everyone like they are family. The ambiance is both romantic and comfortable. The patio is a great place to sit back and enjoy a good glass of wine and your dinner. Calamari with rapinni is terrific as an appetizer, my husband loves the ahi, everyone loves the soups! My favorite entree is the filet of sole over the butternut squash risotto, although everything I have tasted is superior. The food is consistently great. My mother, a very picky Italian, thinks the food tastes like her Mom used to make. Any of the desserts with a nice glass of sweet wine just tops the terrific meal. It is a wonderful place to go and relax with good friends. Just wish it was closer to the west end of the Valley! Pros: Great ambiance, consistently terrific food, superior customer service Cons: None that I can think of! more

Try everything! 1/29/2007

My husband and I checked this place out on a whim when they first opened and were totally blown away. We've ended up back there once a week since. We've brought other people to try it and everyone loves the place! Very romantic atmosphere. Extremely welcoming. It feels and tastes as though you're in Italy! Tremendously delicious, comforting food. Excellent service. Convenient location. Fabulous patio, but inside is lovely too. \r The salads are great, but the soups are wonderful as well. Tonight's porcini mushroom soup had several layers of terrific flavor. Also, tonight I had the best cioppino EVER! The broth was a tomato with fennel. Tons of extremely fresh fish. Just perfect. I've had pasta there, too and loved it. And of course you can't go wrong with risotto!\r Lovely wine selection. And everything is reasonably priced. The place is a treasure. Pros: great food; great service! more

Delicious!! Not to be missed!! 1/29/2007

Since discovering Risotto last summer, we have had several wonderful meals there. We have always been greeted warmly and sincerely by the owner and have always been impressed by the attentive and competent wait staff. I am a big fan of the filet of sole served over butternut squash risotto cakes, but recently had their monkfish special which was served over a pear and gorgonzola risotto and I have admit looking around to see if anyone was watching because I really wanted to lick the plate. It was amazing! During that same meal my companion ordered the pork and was singing it's praises. I have often ordered the various risotto dishes and each one was better than the next. One particular evening, at the suggestion of our waiter, Rex, we ordered a bottle of Amarone which was smooth and delicious, but have enjoyed the house wines very much as well. For appetizer, I think their fried calamari sprinkled with parmesan cheese is just out of this world. They have great ahi tuna too. For dessert, don't miss the canoli or tiramisu. Trust me, it's worth the extra 30 minutes on the treadmill!!\r \r \r I can't wait for the weather to warm up and be able to, once again, enjoy the lovely patio. Pros: Delicious food, attentive staff and charming host Cons: I'm trying to think of something......nope, nothing!!! more

Best Italian food, bar none 1/27/2007

This is the best italian food my wife and I have ever eaten. Considering that she grew up in San Francisco and I'm from Brooklyn, that's saying alot. The atmosphere was wonderful and the service was impeccable. The owner (Claudio) greets everyone personally and makes you feel at home. The salads were fantastic and the veal is the best in the city. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the coffee and dessert were unbelievable. I recommend that everyone try this place. I guarantee you'll be hooked. Prices are fair and parking is plentiful. Pros: the entire experience more
