THE best bbq anywhere 1/4/2009

I dare you to find better bbq. I like going when it is a little chilly outside. There is a wait for a table (just because everyone wants the bbq) and it is nice to stand outside and talk. It is sort of built into the mountain. It is a nice homey feeling restaurant. The food is great and you get a lot! More than one person can eat. I suggest getting one platter and split if with someone. Yum yum. Pros: Great food, good service, lots of food for what you pay! Cons: hard to find, parking is bad, have to wait for a table more

The Best and a Video 12/31/2008

worth the drive 4/24/2006

My husband and I love this place. And so a lot of other people, because every time we go we get the last parking place. The sauce is amazing, and thankfully you can purchase jars of it. It is a pretty small place so if you want to eat in be prepared to wait awhile or just get it to go. And yes it is very outdated looking but people come here for the food not the atmosphere. more

The BEST BBQ anywhere!!! 4/5/2006

You would not think that a little place in the side of a mountian that looks a little run down would produce the best BBQ around, but take my word for it, it does!! The sauce is a secret recipie, the meat is sliced thin, the fries are hand cut and fried perfectly. The portion size is ridiculously large. And I'm not one who eats baked beans regularly, but I could almost make a meal of them by theirself. The atmostphere is quaint and outdated which only adds to the charm of this little jem. As a matter of fact, I have a sister who lives in a different state, and when I go to visit, she insists that I stop and bring her some Ridgewood BBQ. more

Barbecue At It's Best 9/22/2005

I can't believe I haven't been back to this place yet. It's not the closest to me and it's a little bit hard to find, but once you get there it's well worth it. They have so many things to choose from like pork and chicken mixed with the best barbecue sauce. I was very satisfied and had some to take home. It's slightly pricey, but well worth it. Be warned though it's a small restraunt and the seating may take a while, but don't give up! more

The Very Best 9/4/2005

Although, I have never actually eaten in the resturaunt , itself, I have had several meals from there. Once a week, an employee, Carl Dreger, who lives close to the returuant, takes up money, and then brings the meat, the beans, buns and several deserts to work, amd we all enjoy a meal. It is always fresh, tener and mouth watering. PROS: Food is consistantly wonderful CONS: Iwish there were more of them more

  • Listed in Southern Living as theRidgewood's pork is as good as it gets. Hickory-cooked hams are sliced and souped with a tangy, dark-red, slightly smoky sauce (available by the pint and quart near the cash register) and served as a platter, under a heap of terrific dark-gold French fries, or in a giant sandwich that spills out all sides of the bun. South's Finest Barbecue.
