Fresh and new home 4/14/2010

My friend is helping to write this note to say how much I like living here. Recently I had an incident in my old apartment and the Office staff people here responded so quickly and nicely to my need. They allowed me to move into another apartment here right away and it had just been re-done! I'm so happy and my new apartment is so beautiful. I ride the bus and with the stop right here, it's very convenient for me to get around. So since I'm happy and they were good to me, my friend said I should tell people. And that's why I'm writing here. Thank you. Pros: Good people and easy bus access Cons: Driveway is a little steep but really all right more

Good neighbors here 4/14/2010

I have lived here at the Ridges Apts for a while. I love it here because it is my HOME!!! The area is clean and quiet and nobody bothers me. Our neighbors get along with each other and we try to look after each other. The office staff and the maintenance help are so nice and helpful too. I can call and they've always come to take care of things in a timely manner. (thank you, Scott) So if you come to live here with us, I think you'll like it. :) Pros: Nice grassy hills, pretty red brick buildings Cons: No knitting club (yet) more

I enjoy living here! 4/8/2010

I am writing this to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation of the overall quality and professionalism of the entire staff. I have been a tenant at the complex for approximately 11 months. When I incurred a drastic change in my employment situation I was very pleased with the staff's empathy towards my situation. I would like to especially thank the maintenance/grounds team for their continual hard work. I have had minimal maintenance requests, however the team has always expedited the work order in a timely manner. The apartment complex is very well maintained and the apartments are very nice, quiet, affordable and convenient. I enjoy living here and I would highly recommend these apartments. Pros: Well-maintained grounds, hard working staff Cons: None really - its nice here more

Trying to get better 8/23/2008

I myself stayed at The Ridges Apartments for two years. One year I spent in an apt near the office and the second year I relocated to one around the corner. My first years experience was not a very pleasant one. It had nothing to do with the current management team. The woman below me continued to complain on my ""loud laughing"" and ""late showers"" . I recieved several complaint letters to my apt. regarding this womans rants. I requested a meeting between myself, the complainer and the Manager in charge. When I finally had a chance to voice my side of the situation I left feeling it was finally over. Not two days later I got yet another complaint letter. I moved immediatly away from the grouch and to my second Ridges apt. Another ""lady"" was over the office at that time. When management finally changed over it slowly but surely got a little better. I heard the many complaints of management, poor heating and air conditioning while I stayed there. But other than the grouch I had no complaints. The management team worked with me when I was behind on my rent. She allowed me grace periods that I know I wouldnt have recieved anywhere else. So for anyone just starting out and looking for there first apt. I think the Ridges is the perfect place to go to. Besides there the last cheapest apt. in town there is. And for the price, the quality isn't all that bad. Ive seen worse. Pros: Pricing Cons: Air Conditioning Flaws more

I'd rather be homeless... 5/3/2008

Than to live in the Ridges. I lived there for approx 2 years, and when I moved out they tacked over $2500 on my credit for 'carpet and linoleum replacement' which I informed them that the kitchen and bathroom floors looked like they had been sliced with a blade and burned with a cigarette, and they ignored it. I also informed them of many other problems, such as a cracked shower stall floor, leaky window, dishwasher that ran for HOURS, (literally, i went to bed one night and started the dishwasher, and got up the next AM and it was still running!) and various other issues which all went unnoticed. I finally got a new dishwasher after speaking with the head of maintenance personally, and let him see what was going on, and he put int he work order for me. The apt mgr was one of the meanest people I'd ever met in a professional setting. I've never seen anyone hate their job so much, and take it out on the residents. Sometimes I even thought after I'd dropped my rent check in the night depository, she would say she 'didnt get it yet' days after I'd paid it, and then I would end up with late payment charges. This apartment complex is probably the worst in Cabarrus county. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! Pros: cant think of any Cons: parking, management, maintenance, more

Fulfill your lease to avoid credit worries 2/9/2008

Worst Apartment ever 8/13/2006

This place is an absolute JOKE. The manager at this property does not follow through with things she has verbally said she would. She refuses to give the name of her boss to file a complaint. I waited 3 to 4 months to have a water heater closet fixed after water went everywhere and flooded the neighbors downstairs. I made 3 phone calls to her between these months and finally had to write a formal request to get them to repair the work. I then ask for a free month of rent only to get no response as usual. The free month I requested was for all the trouble I went through waiting on them to repair the mess, which I have pictures of. They also refused to change the carpet for the neighbors downstairs who had an infant child. They simply used some company that apparently sent some teenagers out to dry it up. The neighbors moved the next month. After not getting a response back about the free month for my troubles I send a 60 -day notice of leaving, which is denied by the Manager because I sent it on the 2nd of the month and not the first, so I pay that month, send in another request to leave the next month and pay that month as well. Only to find out now that same manager is wanting me to pay double my rent. This lady is spiteful and does not deserve to be in the position she is in. I am not the only one that has made complaints, just the only one that speaks up and refuses to pay what I do not owe. I encourage anyone moving to the Kannapolis, NC area NOT to stay here and anyone that is currently here to speak up and not let her walk all over you and your family. Pros: Location Cons: Manager, maintenence, and Manager more
