Each time I go to Rick's it is a gamble. Good desserts which are consistently good but portions are all over the place. Used to be huge, and now range from slivers to good. And wh...

Awesome! 7/12/2003

The desserts are AWESOME! The Oreo cheesecake and the champange cake were soooooo goood. The atmosphere reminds me of a 50's diner and the service was great. I can't wait to go back! more

Good place for a late night snack 9/26/2002

Stepping into Rick's Dessert Diner takes you back to the 50s with its black and white checkered floor, juke boxes and red bar stools. The desserts being offered for the day are displayed along with the prices in glass cases. I must say that they are a little on the pricey side; however, the toasted coconut pecan cake I had was quite good. Service could be improved but overall not too bad. It's a nice place to go to for a late night dessert. Pros: Open Late Cons: Pricey, Poor Service more

when its good, it's very good... 9/14/2002

When its, bad, its very very bad. Prices are a bit steep for me (around $5.00 a piece) and the serving size seems to depend on the mood of the staff at the time. It's trended towards getting a bigger piece when the staff is in a good mood, which seems to be rare. The cake itself is good most of the time however there have been a few times its been dry or an ingredient has turned bad. Overall, its ok. Nothing I would write home about. Pros: Good location, nice outdoor seating Cons: Expensive, Rude service, limited parking more

Betty Crocker has nothing on Rick's 9/9/2002

This is a key spot to take your out-of-town friends and get a great sugar rush. The atmosphere and the desserts are truely A+. You may have to wait for a seat (especially on Fridays and Saturdays between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m) but it is well worth it. more
