Best

Had a wonderful visit. The fajitas were great (and they're even on special one night) and I loved the chips and salsa as well. Would def. recommend and I will def. be coming back!

Worst

I hate to say negative things about a restaurant but to rank them #1 destroys the validity of this whole process and makes me question the accuracy of anything on this website.

Taco Bueno at 10 times the price! 12/1/2008

This place is highly rated? If you look at the dates of the positive reviews, you will notice a block of them on the same day. (see 07/18/2007). You will also notice that every profile in that block have reviewed one place: ""Ricardo's"". HHHHHHmmm seems a bit fishy to me but derive what you will from that. Pros: Nice Location Cons: Below average food, ubove average prices. more

No way this should be #1 6/16/2008

BEST SOUR CREAM ENCHILADAS!!!! 4/9/2008

I am ADDICTED to the Amazing Sour Cream Enchiladas and the Chicken el Carbon is INCREDIBLE!!!!! YUMMY!!!!! :p more

Ricardos 12/24/2007

Best House Margarita EVER! (the Ricardo, frozen) Pros: The Ricardo Margarita, frozen, is the BEST margarita ever! Cons: Chicken enchiladas are ok. Nothing great! more

Best Fajita Fare around! 10/20/2007

Our family loves eating the chicken fajita's with the one-of-a-kind seasoning. The seasoning on the chicken fajita's is reason enough to drive across town past numerous other Tex-Mex restaurants. Add an order of beef fajita nachos and you have the perfect combination of Ricardo's specialties. Pros: Anything Fajita, or Rita Cons: Not open on Sundays more

2 different experiences, same restaurant 10/15/2007

I went to Ricardo's because it was rated so highly on citysearch. My first visit was lunch about 2 weeks ago. It was on Tuesday when they have a fajita deal. I had the chicken and steak, super generous portion. I was starving and still took half of it home and it was good value at half off. Lots of business people having office lunch parties that day. It was delicious. However, when i returned in the evening with my family one week later we had enchiladas, tacos, and the tortilla soup. They were all disappointing. Especially the bland soup. So, If you are in a fajita mood, I could recommend those, otherwise I like Luna de Noche or La Hacienda Ranch for the other tex mex fare. The service is good. Pros: fajitas, service, cleanliness Cons: boring soup, enchilads, tacos more

Not That Great 10/10/2007

I'm not sure I was in the same place rated here. Best Mexican? Best Burrito? Are you people kidding? There's not even a burrito on the menu. I sense ballot stuffing. The ""family recipe"" queso ""topped with bell peppers"" had no such topping, and was a bowl of melted Mexican velveeta. Waiter explanation was that the peppers are in the cheese. Uh, yeah. The ""smokeless fajitas"" are smokeless because they are cooked ahead of time and rewarmed for serving. Make no mistate, this is a kids and family joint at best. Pros: Bring the kids Cons: Over-rated more

Not sure why the reviews for this place are so great. 8/2/2007

I guess people in Allen don't know better, but the food here is not good tex-mex. I had enchiladas. The ones at Taco Bueno are better. My wife had quesadillas and said the ones at Taco Bell are better. The queso was good and its not a chain, so I give it 2 stars. After reading the reviews here I set my expectations high. That was a mistake. Next time, I'll back to one of the places I enjoy... Uncle Julios, Mi Cocina, Taco Diner, or maybe even Mexi-go. Pros: Not a chain, queso Cons: The meals more

Fajita's that Rock! 7/28/2007

Love Ricardos....Awesome food. Huge Portions. Chicken Fajitas are the best..... Friendly wait staff, mostly students from nearby, and not a lot of turnover so you see the same faces each time you come in....They always have a smile and seem glad to see you..... We feel like Ricardos is our home away from home for dinner....Perfect neighborhood restaruant.....We have young kids and they always treat them with love and respect....If I could eat Mexican food everynight, we would be there 6 days a week..... Pros: Fajitas, Nachos, and 'Ritas Cons: Not open on Sundays more

Americans do know how to cook great Tex-Mex! 7/21/2007

Enchilada special on Tuesdays is a great deal- I get 1 cheese & 1 beef enchilada & add a beef taco for $1 extra- call me a ""happy camper"". The hot sauce is thick & tasty. Service is very friendly. Food is not greasy like some other Mexican restaurants- it sets real nice in your belly. Dark, artsy atmosphere at night is kind of dramatic. Pros: Not your average Tex-Mex recipes. Contemporary ambience. Cons: Allow time for food to be prepared (but worth the wait.) more

Best food, family & FUN... 7/19/2007

I rate Ricardos as 5 star because they have the best Tex Mex food, family and fun in Allen! Their guacamole and red hot sauce are delicious with a cold cervaza and their chicken enchiladas are my favorite. Their key lime pie tastes better than the one I ate while on vacation in the Florida Keys. Pros: Family fun / free sombreros for Cinco de Mayo party. more

Good food 7/19/2007

We love going to Ricardo's. It is so family friendly and has great Tex-MEx. We can dine outside or in and get a great meal for a reasonable price. The atmosphere is fun and so is the food. I like the chalupa's. You should try it! Pros: fun mexican food Cons: no taco's more

GREAT FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE 7/18/2007

I WOULD RECOMMEND RICARDO'S TO ANYONE! YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE PART OF THE FAMILY WHEN YOU GO IN! THE OWNERS I HAVE MET AND THEY ARE VERY CUSTOMER FRIENDLY, YOU FEEL SO WELCOMED AT THEIR ESTABLISHMENT. THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT, I HAVE TRIED ALMOST EVERYTHING ON THE MENU AND HAVE NOT HAD A BAD MEAL. IT IS SO AFFORDABLE TO TAKE MY FOUR CHILDREN AND ENJOY EATING OUT WITHOUT SPENDING A FORTUNE TO DO SO. THANK YOU RICARDO'S FOR SUCH A GREAT SERVICE YOU PROVIDE. more

Best queso! 7/18/2007

Ricardo's is one of our favorites. The owner and his wife make you feel like family in a unique atmosphere. The waitstaff is friendly and the food comes out quick. The queso is by far our familes favorite! Pros: Best queso Cons: Closed on Sunday more

Best Chalupas in North Texas! 7/18/2007

Ricardo's is a rare find. Great food, good service, and attention to detail. Kevin will greet each customer with a smile and a true appreciation for their business. I have never had a meal I did not love and the kids love the menu as well. Try the Chicken Soup, it's some of the best we have tried! The Guacamole is made fresh daily and is a must appetizer. Pros: Private Owners who meet and greet almost every customer. Cons: Once you have found it, none! more
