Horrible experience 6/25/2011

My wife and I went there and ordered an appetizer and 2 tenderloin salads. Never got the appetizer and got a small portion of lettuce with 3 pieces of fatty meat, not dressing and none of the other salad stuff. My wife's salad was not cooked to the right temperature and also had few items on it. Rip off. more

Great business lunch place! 4/7/2011

I often bring clients to Rialto Cafe for the great atmosphere, friendly service and amazing lunch items. I entertain clients often and love that I can order from their beyond the bagged lunch specials too. My favorite is the Basil BLT adding Chicken!! Great job! more

Amazing Ahi Tuna 3/16/2009

The Grilled Ahi tuna that is on the dinner menu is consistently incredible. It's served with a wasabi whipped potato, asian veggie slaw and a lemon butter. Pros: Incredible Food Cons: Mediocre Service more

CHEATING STAFF, MEDIOCRE FOOD, HORRIBLE DRINKS 2/18/2009

Do not order the rendezvous martini, unless you enjoy the taste of cherry, butt, mouthwash, and ashtray combined. Besides the fact that Rialto's drinks were lacking and that their food was no better than your local Applebee's, the incompetent wait staff was unable to successfully split the bill. What would seem a simple task, took nearly an hour and was still incorrect. After the matter, additional charges that were ""unaccounted for"" were added to different members of the group's credit cards, WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. Management was unable to provide proof of these extra charges and refused to cooperate. You'll have better luck going to the Chili's across the street. Cons: Horrible Management and mediocre food more

Consistently delicious! 7/21/2008

Have dined at Rialto multiple times. Food is always great. Their salmon is cooked perfectly, slightly pink on the inside. I highly recommend their whipped mashed potatoes - always a crowd-pleaser. I also reccommend their New Years Eve dinners - they are always fantastic, bring food out quickly and provide excellent service. I have had friend's birthday dinners here, along with my Rehersal dinner when I was married in 2007. Love this place and come here as often as I can. Fantastic Happy Hour - great food and drink specials. Pros: Great wait staff, greeters, food, ambiance, location Cons: Downtown parking - not their fault! more

Great Place 6/25/2008

I highly enjoyed my experience at Rialto! The location is great and the staff was very friendly. I will recommend this restaurant to friends. more

Pushy Service, Substandard Food 8/11/2007

Reservations were relatively easy to get. We booked it 30 minutes in advance. The server was really pushing us to eat quickly. She bothered us every 2 minutes asking if we were ready to order yet when it was obvious we were conversing with the other couple. My fiancee had the salmon which she liked, I had the osso bucco which was decent (the orange glaze was nice), my friend had the cinnamon / coffee encrusted filet mignon which did not live up to expectations (couldn't taste the coffee or cinnamon - tasted blackened), and his wife had a cheeseburger which she seemed to enjoy. Waitress continued to be pushy for us to check out. I wouldn't go back to this place. The food was not special and unique enough to overlook the service. Pros: Easy to get a reservation Cons: Pushy service, average food, boring selection more

It was the old bait and switch at Rialto 7/12/2007

A friend of mine was visiting from California. We walked down 16th street and she wanted to go in to Rialto for a quick bite to eat. We perused the menu posted at the front door. She wanted the Caesar salad, which was listed at $4.99. When we went inside, she ordered the salad. Only later did we come to realize that the salad on the menu was $6.99. Confused, I went outside and double-checked the menu outside. Sure enough, we were right. The DINNER salad was listed at $4.99, NOT $6.99. I brought this to the attention of our waiter, who said he would correct the price. Still not satisfiied, I asked to see a manager, as I thought such a price discrepancy should come to his attention. Anthony, the manager, came to see me. When I told him about the fact that the $4.99 salad was not listed as an option on the inside menu, he barely took me seriously. I had to explain to him that it's the principle of the matter: it's unethical to lure someone in off the street while listing an item at a certain low price, but not offer that item as an option when the customer enters the restaurant, thinking they can get that item. He still didn't really seem to care, and said he would ""Take care of it."" Enough time passed that my friend and I finally left, without the bill having been amended, or the waiter or manager stopping us as we walked out the door, never to return again. Pros: location Cons: bait-and-switch pricing, uncaring managers more

tude... with a capital ""T"" 6/15/2007

hate doing this. but what is so cosmopolitan about being rude? maybe if the food was mind blowing and the place had historical significance it could be argued. but as far as i am concerned this place has neither. Pros: on the mall Cons: staff more

Great Dining Experience 1/12/2007

I recently visited the Rialto Cafe after attending a show in Downtown Denver. This was the perfect location, as it was just a few blocks from the theatre district. The service was excellent and the menu offered something for everyone. I was particullary impressed with the professionalism of the management staff. Not only did the manager visit my table and others around me, but she took a personal interest in our dining experience. There was a group of ""rowdy"" drinkers that were loud and distracting myself and others at my table. She politely asked the group what they were celebrating and if they would like a private area away from other guests. Although they declined, the noise level decreased, and she managed to ensure that all guests had a positive dining experience. It is service like this that will bring me back again and again. more

Hostess and staff think that being rude is in... 12/10/2006

Hate complaining but took a group of 5 couples to Rialto after a show. Took a while to get in, which was reasonable, but after sitting down we had a none existent waiter and a hostess that pretty well offended everyone in our group to the point that we left before ordering. Would not recommend for groups over 4 people unless they enjoy getting insulted and poor service. Pros: Great location Cons: The staff more

Good American Fare 2/28/2006

While the food won't win any awards for creativity, it is consistently good. The proportions are large and the price is reasonable. The service is great and I plan to go back to Rialto for many more meals. Avoid the chili- it is consistently off, but many of the other menu items are great! Pros: Food, Service Cons: Parking more

Great Happy Hour 2/14/2006

I first started going to Rialto for the great & cheap happy hour. Now I go for lunch several times a month thanks to the Warm Roasted Chicken Salad. It is excellent! Pros: Warm Chicken Salad, No wait, happy hour more

yet again 11/15/2005

Yet another restuarant where the food is average but the service is less than desirable. It was my boyfriend's birthday and the server could have cared less. Plus, I have severe dietary restrictions and the server pretended he knew what we were talking about and then proved to have no clue (recommending things to me that I could not eat after I described what I meant!!!!). After waiting tables for many years, service is the most important thing and this place was not even near par. Would not recommend for veggies or vegans. Nor birthdays. Cons: server knowledge more

Highly recommended 6/10/2004

The Happy Hour has to be the best downtown! Great $3. martinis and also a wonderful $3. food menu. The patio is great for people watching and the staff is very attentive and friendly. I've always had a great time there. Pros: inexpensive, nice and cozy, great food more

Excellent Place for Friendly Dining 4/19/2004

I have been to the Rialto Cafe several times now for food and drinks. Each and every time I found that the service was not only friendly and helpful, but timely and efficient. This is really hard to come by these days. The food has been excellent each and every time. Their Sunday brunch is fabulous and offers a bloody mary buffet as well. Overall, I think the Rialto Cafe is a great place and I will be back to visit again and again. more

Getting Better 5/31/2003

Not sure what is changing here, but something is. Used to be the place you go because the bartender will give away free drinks to anyone whose name she knows. All regulars at the bar... but now, the food is better, the service is getting better, and they have realized that you have to be nice and friendly these days to get people to come back. We had salads, entrees, wine and killer desserts for under 100$. Nice. Pros: Desserts more

Made for a wonderful Anniversary! 5/10/2003

Food was amazing! Quiet little corner. Great wine recommendations. Felt like a star! Pros: Everything Cons: Prom Season more

Excellent Breakfast! 4/30/2003

I had a wonderful experience! I service was over the top and my Omlette and Bloody Mary were delicious. I will be back! Pros: Great service more

Good for drinks, not for food 2/2/2003

The service at Rialto is abysmal. Recently there for for breakfast, I considered filing a missing persons report for my server. This was my third visit there for food, and I have found the staff to be ill-informed, rude, and clueless as to how to do their jobs. The bar is ok for drinks, but you do run into similar service issues with some of the barstaff Pros: ambience, convenient location, easy to get a table Cons: service, food, overall experience more
