Rhino Dance Pub

Though the Rhino Pub in South Lyon has a rough exterior the warm friendly atmosphere inside is worth it. (keep in mind if you act like an idiot you will be treated like one in return for example if your not tipping or being rude the staff most likely will not be at your beckon call.....It all stems back to the old saying ""treat people how you want to be treated"" ) The reviews I have read are all over a year old and does not reflect the changes and new personalities working inside. Rhino has made some changes including a new Corn Hole game and is still the only place in town with a pool table. I have been a patron for quit a few years and have seen the ups and downs. One review complains about cigarette burns in the carpet....Really you have to blame that on the smokers not the bar. If you can look past the floor you will notice the comfy ""Sofa King Suites"" that provide a luxury seat with a coffee table for placing your drink or dancing. Rhino has great specials and has had some great live music over the years including Blackberry Brandy and Tiny Lighting I would suggest calling for upcoming events. Rhino also host local groups performing such as live hip hop shows. I would say the average age ranges on different nights due to different specials and music. They now play Country on Friday Nights and it brings in the most diverse crowd. So if your looking for a good time and haven't found it at the Rhino in the past I would suggest giving it another try. more

The above poster must be in his 20's. So, the staff is hot. So what? Does that mean they provide good service? Or know anything about drinks? The answer is no. Very poor service from these girls. Bad attitudes on occasion. The good bartenders have since moved on, which is a shame. The bar itself looks run down inside, it could use a remodeling. Broken chairs, the bar rail carved up, disgusting bathrooms. The carpeting is full of cigarette burns and stinks. Music is o.k. to good, L.V. is a great DJ. The bar is a high school, full of gossip, full of rumor mongering. Due in no small part to the way Aaron the owner runs it. Which, is to say not very well. He and the bouncers are more concerned with the 21 year-old girls. They should be concerned with the awaful rep the bar has. The bar rep is South Lyon dwellers get banned, and fights every other week.. It's only really busy on Thursdays due to dollar beers. I guess serving dollar beers means making great drinks. The other days of the week the Rhino is dead. It's been that way for years. New ownership would greatly improve the Rhino. Pros: L.V.-The best D.J. I was new to the town and didn't know anyone so I decided to stop by one night for a drink and the atmosphere got me hooked. The staff are hot not to mention they know what there doing when they make your drinks. I've been going there for about a year now and 4 months back I meet my girlfriend there and we hit it off so well we try to make it there every weekend. So now that is our get away when we just need to relax and have fun Pros: Great music, drinks and fun people Cons: looks small from the outside but bigger inside more
