Creative, imaginative dining in Ohio! 3/29/2009

Having moved from San Francisco a few years ago I can only bow down in reverence to Revolver. This is top of the line cuisine in NW Ohio. An oasis for those weary of fast food (sic.). The decor is attractive and the staff are attentive. The cuisine would hold its own in any large metropolitan community. Yes, the portions are small--so what. The preparation is elegant. Findlay is lucky to have such a sophisticated retaurant. Pros: local ingredients used creatively, service, informality more

Top Pick for us!! 7/16/2008

Wow! Mainly because the Revolver restaurant is one of my favs, I am stumped by the review I just read. I generally think that when people write bad reviews about this place it's because they don't get it. Based on the fact that April's highly recommends Lee's Famous Recipe, I think it's safe t draw conclusions that this is the case. The Revolver restaurant is in the fine dining category. Bet on being there for a couple of hours. One hour for multiple course fine dining is NOT uncharacteristic. The portions, when you take into account the high quality of ingredients that they use, are not small. Iin fact, when compared to other restaurants like this in cities like Toledo, Columbus, Detroit, Cinci, etc, I find the Revolver to be the bargain of Ohio's fine dining circuit. Stick to Lee's where you can get a bucket of the finest genetically-altered, pumped full of hormones and anti-biotics and piled on top of one another in cramped cages chicken for under twenty bucks. Pros: Excellent wine list, knowledgeable staff, locavore friendly more

High prices, little value, big hype 6/19/2008

My friends and I decided to go and check out Revolver. Needless to say it was very small inside but the decor was good (esp. their bathroom, check it out). But once we saw the menu, there wasn't much to choose from and the prices were high! Expect to pay $20+ at least if you want a decent meal. Their appetizers were just one or two items and they give you SO little! Our waitress was an older looking lady and she was a snob! We waited SO long for her to come over and get our orders! Our food took almost an hour to prepare and the place was NOT even packed! Pros: Ambience, bathroom Cons: High price, snobby staff, long wait, few choices on the menu more

If you think you have to drive two hours to get great food, think again. 12/5/2007

This place wow'd me. My expectations were high considering the review in Bon Appetite, and the Revolver did not dissappoint. This is a dining experience- not just a place to eat. The food was fabulous. I was especially impressed with the use of local, fresh, organic food. They change what's playing on the revolver along with the menu regularly, but you can't go wrong if the ribeye is available when you visit. Bring your appetite for that one. To say the steak is huge is an understatement. You'll understand once you experience it. Pros: Different, eclectic atmosphere w/gourmet food Cons: small space- you definitely need reservations more
