Horrible Service 12/8/2014

I have rented from this company for the past three years. I really enjoyed them until this year. When I moved into my most recent property there were several issues. We told them about these issues and were told they would be fixed quickly. My roommate and I have dogs, which Rent a Home knows about. We told them if they didn't fix one problem (the carpet not being sealed) not only would we have an issue of us tripping over it, but our dogs would probably see it as something to chew on. They told us it would be fixed in a week and not to worry. We kept an eye on our dogs and waited for a call. Two weeks passed and it still hadn't been fixed. Then, as we predicted, our dogs chewed on the carpet. We called Rent a home again and told them to fix the problem, we explained what happened. They sent the repair guy out and it was still another week before it got fixed. We were told that because it took them so long to fix it, we wouldn't be charged for the issue. Then we got a bill in the mail. They lie and they don't fix problems until they can make it your fault. Don't rent from these people. more

Beware Lanlords 11/24/2013

I recently had a horrible experience with this organization. They were not upfront with me when they provided me with information about the applicant for my property. I had to ask several questions to draw out the information from them to make an informed decision about renting my property. They had good customer service at first, but their staff is not very competent when it comes to reviewing applications. Consider someone else before signing on with these guys. I could have done a better job myself! Needless to say, I will not recommend them to anyone. more

Baaad experience 8/30/2013

I rented a home with rent-a-home in 2013. The beginning was great but once i was in, the customer service was awful. You need something fixed or done and it was the run around and with a different person every time. There is no communication between the tenants and them. You ask them a concern or question and they promise to get back to you but never do until you call them. I set up an arrangement once because I had a little trouble one month to pay the rent and there was an agreement..............someone else took over and no communication was done between them i had to explain the situation again. A week later or so someone else took over the two representatives no longer worked there or switched positions is what i was told. So when the third person took over it was all crazy from there. Basically before i knew it only a week later after he took over (Ryan) I received an eviction letter to be out in 4 DAYS yeah 4 days. Evidently the court process was done and i was never notified of anything......... and now they send a letter for eviction when an agreement was done and I was sticking to the agreement without problem. They came up with the bs about ohhhh........ the house is gonna be sold you need to leave. Rude like that, and tried to get me to pay the rent for the following month, but i refused because it was not due yet. They DO NOT KEEP THERE WORD on what they say. I would strongly recommend you to rent from someone else. more

BEWARE! 6/19/2013

I would strongly encourage anyone not to use this rental company to rent from or use for property management of their home. Customer service is terrible for starters. If you do rent from them, protect yourself!! Take pictures of everything when you move in. They are charging us for damages we did not do and have held our deposit for 2 months while they rack up more false charges. They convienantly lost our move in check list. Please do your homework check out their reviews before working with them. more

My Experience (June/July 2011) 7/15/2011

Good: They have a good selection of rental homes to choose from on their website. Bad: Service was initially not very good and it was difficult scheduling appointments to see properties. Once they know your interested in a property and you have good credit you will be treated fine. Improvements: They should allow credit/background checks up front to help speed up the process for those folks who are relocating for work purposes. The good properties tend to go fairly fast so you will miss out on some good ones if don't move quickly. Other: They appear to be extremely busy and running around like crazy. more

Awful Experience!!!!!!!!!! 7/14/2011

I have rented a property with Rent-A-Home of the Triad beggining in 2009. Until I rented from them, they seemed so nice and as soon as I moved in it seemed that they did not even take the time to clean the property from the previous tenants. I had to call them to send someone to clean it. *******They have ever since put me in a situation where I found myself being pressured to buy the property when that was not what I had signed up for. The Owner and Rent- A-Home began to send realtors and to schedule showings to people while I still lived there and they only gave me 30 days notice to move when I told them I was not interested in purchasing the property. Kerrie Person was extremely unprofessional and has taken half of my deposit out of spite since that property was well taken care of. I advise anyone to choose another property management to rent from and if renting from rent a home , still take pictures of the smallest things which they could use agaisnt you even though it may have been done by previous tenants prior to your own move in date. Awful experience, rude owner, and unwillingness to respect the tenants who are providing them with a monthly income. more

When you need to rent in the Greensboro Triad area, Rent a Home is the place to start looking. They manage a good variely of rental property and they are fair in the pricing. They are great managers as they look after the properties. If something is wrong, they are quick to repair it. They take the time to make sure each property is decent, safe and secure before they will rent it. So if you are looking to rent, or need a management company give Rent a Home a try. more
