Regeneration Tattoo

I got a tat today at regeneration tattoo, located in Allston rock city, on Harvard ave, near the pet shop. Apt, was at 1:45, got to the tat by 3. S U E, owner of shop, had spent the evening before drawing up the design, which was a variation of the image I brought her. All clean checks where fine, everything was sterile, and she drilled on me for 2 hours, resulting in the first (id say 75%) of the tat. it came out fraking GREAT. I?ve got nothing but compliments on it today. Pain was minimal in some spots, fairly painful in the ""pit"" of my arm, but overall, it was a very good experience, and I would recommend the shop to anyone in the area looking for some new ink. I will say designs closer to old school, heavy outline, minimal color, high in detail, but low in realism are your best bet. Not keen to portraits, but spot on with some intuitive designs. Been wanting a tattoo for a while but was a first-timer and a little nervous. I explained that I wanted something small and in a fairly discreet location; I was told that they had female artists on staff, and the staff started answering my questions as I looked through their portfolios. Then I met Hannah: very cool, very calm, very easy going, she did an incredible job of explaining the process without being pretentious, and generally putting aside any fears I might have had. The tattoo was done in a week after the ""consult"" - and the results were no less than amazing. She is extremely creative, very patient, and very sensitive. The pain was surprisingly mild - and the tattoo itself came out great. Hannah then took the time to give me after-care instructions; I felt like I had been taken through the process from beginning to end and now have something to show for it. This place rocks! I loved the friendly, non-pretentious atmosphere. Most tattoo shops are frequented by people trying to be tougher than everyone else, not to mention the staff trying to look like the coolest kids on the block. At Regeneration, however, it's clear that the staff is there to make your experience the most comfortable and enjoyable it can be. Sue is awesome!!! It is really nice that this is a woman-owned tattoo. Everything is VERY sterile without feeling like you are at the doctor's office. Staff also is warm and inviting. Prices are reasonable (no one is trying to rip you off!) and half of what you'd pay at other Boston locations. I'd say that in a few months, other tattoo places will be running for their money.
