I've been very disappointed many times at this theater. The prices - even the matinee - is outrageous. It's always cold in there, too. There were times when this cinema advertised 3D movies but after buying the ticket and going in, I discovered the movie was NOT shown in 3D in this theater and the staff neglected to tell us they lacked the projector to show it in 3D as advertised. The popcorn was outrageously priced and it was nasty from sitting too long. The soda was expensive and it was flat.. The staff gave no refund for the nasty popcorn and soda and they didn't refund the tickets for the 3D movie that wasn't shown in 3D. They would not exchange the popcorn for a fresh one out of the machine. I (stupidly) went there again in August 2009 and the ceiling was LEAKING on us from the rain, even though we moved to other seats. How nice to spend over $20 on movie tickets and some crummy popcorn and soda (at about $5 each) and get leaked on. We know by the prices they charge that this cinema can afford to fix the roof. Nobody did a thing to compensate me at the website, either. Guess they don't care. It's disappointing and inconvenient that the movie theater doesn't offer an alternative selection of diet drinks and low-sugar, low-fat snacks for those of us who can't eat snacks (due to medical or diet reasons). They should offer some roasted peanuts or cashews, some oscar meyer hot dogs and smaller sized popcorn. Some of us can't eat candy bars, sweets, nachos, ice cream, tubs of food for medical reasons. I'd be in the bathroom for a 1/2 hour if I ate that stuff. I bring my own snacks because the theater doesn't offer food I can eat. Too bad if they don't like it... Sadly, it's probably best to just wait for the DVD to come out. Movie rentals are cheaper, so are the snacks and I don't have to sit in a puddle. I see no point of going to the theater when they have ruined the experience.
Pros: Only large theater in Kingston
Cons: High prices, not enough healthy food/drink options, rip-offs
