After traveling around Orange County, and exploring over a dozen tropical fish stores, I can tell you that the only person I met who actually knew what he was talking about, yet didn't fake it when he didn't know, was the owner of this store. When necessary, he got out the book and looked it up rather than give me information that he wasn't confident of. His local competition are staff in other stores who pretend to know so they won't look stupid, or simply are too busy to help with anything but your cash. After a month with a planted Tanganyikan cichlid tank I can tell you that every one of my healthiest fish and plants came from this store. I don't know why I bother to go anywhere else.
Pros: Extensive Cichlid inventory, live plants and good information
Cons: Not the prettiest or trendiest locale
