I got ripped off by Redlich Transmissions 1/13/2016

I took my car to Redlich Transmissions on 4/17/15 because I thought my car was having transmission problems. It turned out that the wheel bearings were bad. They replaced both front wheel bearings for $509. When I went to pick up my car, the invoice that I had to sign said 90 days or 4,000. I asked why the warranty was only 90 days. I was told the warranty is just on the parts. That didn't answer my question. I still didn't understand why I was only getting a 90 day warranty. I asked how long will this job last? The guy told me it would last 5 or more years and that they only use quality parts. I asked what brand and he answered Timkin. I even had him spell the name for me because I wanted to double check to make sure they were quality parts. I have a witness and he remembers him telling me this. Last time I had this repaired, it lasted almost 4 years and 9200 miles so I didn't think it mattered that it was saying 90 days.Besides, I had to sign or I wouldn't get my keys.\r \r On 11/14/15 more

Don't believe any 5 star rating! They don't even deserve 1 star!!!\r \r Redlich Transmissions on 136 Steel Street in Youngstown is the main office, is the same company as Redlich Transmissions on 8091 Market Street in Boardman with the same company policies.\r \r Redlich Transmissions are the biggest ripoff artists that I have ever met! In the past I've gone to shops and suspected that I was getting ripped off but until now I was never 100% sure!\r \r Their 90 day warranty is hilarious. Ninety days is short enough that they are confident their work should last at least that long so they don't have to honor a warranty. They will say the 90 day warranty is on the parts and that the parts are only giving them a 90 day warranty. They will say that it is their company policy to cover the cost of the parts but you'll have to pay for the labor. It just so turns out that the cost they are charging for labor is the same cost that other shops charge for the parts plus the labor and will still only give you 90 day warranty when other shop's give a 1 yr warranty, so they don't loose anything. Actually they make money because you'd be paying for the parts and labor anyway!\r \r Now that I'm thinking about it, If I had gone before the 90 days were up, they probably would have given me the same deal because they would say the 90 days is on the parts and would charge for labor, the same as what they are telling me now.\r \r On their website, they have reviews that say things like ""excellent service"", ""honesty and value"", ""cares about there customers."" Give me a break!\r \r Don't turn out like me and be an angry customer because you had to pay again for a job that never should have failed, and can't do anything about it except try to prevent others from trusting Redlich Transmissions and getting ripped off too. more

Learned a lesson 5/1/2012

I took my 2006 jeep to Redlich because I was told I had a problem with my transmission. The person at Redlich,I think his name was Tim told me I needed a new transmission. He could not tell me what was wrong with my transmission ,but did tell me the new one would cost $2,500. I said no thanks and left with my vehicle. On the way home I stopped at another transmission shop. I told them the problem and they put it on the rack and within 10 minutes they told me there was no problem with the transmission. All I needed was a new drive shaft...a $250 part! With tax and labor, it cost me all of $307.70. Thank God for Mikes Transmissions, and SHAME ON REDLICH! I just worry about the seniors who might not know any better. more

You get what you pay for 4/27/2007

22 months and 19,000 miles ago I had this place rebuild the transmission of my wife's 1996 Buick Roadmaster. They were $200 to $300 less than most everybody else in town. Today the transmission doesn't work and they only warrant their work for 12 months - 12,000 miles so I'm just out luck. They were supposed to have installed new and improved parts other than just what was broken to really make it better than brand new. Just hype? Apparently they do not trust their work and from now on neither will I. more
