Red and White 5/25/2006

Tourists aren't total dopes. There are actually fun things to do in SF and even out in Fisherman's Wharf that are completely are completely and utterly touristic. Like taking a boat out under the Golden Gate. Doesn't matter how yokel you are, how many times you've sat in traffic inching and cursing over the thing, when you're bumping on waves, speeding under that international orange structure spray in your face, it's totally cool. Red and White is one of the companies that runs this tour. Try to find the coupons that are around the city and take your out-of-town friends on a little boat trip. more

A nice time out 4/15/2006

The Red and White Fleet takes you to an array of destinations across the bay. This is a pretty nice way to go on a date, as there is nothing like sailing on the water going to an unknown destination. Although, most of those that are on the ship are tourists, and prices for the tickets aren't cheap, especially when your commuting for work, the overall ride was nice and enjoyable, and took me where I wanted. more

Red and White Fleet 3/26/2006

Take the sunset cruise to the Golden Gate Bridge for a great view of the sunset. What a great way to see the city. The cheesy tourist factor is high, but the view is worth it. You get a hand held tour guide to explain all the sights you will see on your trip. But feel free to put them aside and enjoy the view. Be ware for those who get seasick. The bay can be rough, especially at sunset when the wind tends to pick up. Be sure to dress warmly and take some motion sick medicine if necessary. more

Tour of S.F. 10/25/2005

If you want to see San Francisco in its entirety, Red and White Cruise is one of the best boat tours in the Bay Area. They tour pass the Golden Gate bridge all the way to Alcatraz. They offer many tours throughout the day. Word of caution, if you plan to ride outside on deck on the boat, it can get really windy so bring a jacket. Tours are not really expensive but coupons are always helpful in getting a good discount. more
