Wouldn't frequent this place is I was starving and had to eat to live, would rather die!! Had the pork fried rice and all in my family got food poisoning, went to talk to the owner and he was rude and uncaring about our plight, if I would have been thinking right I would have sued them and put them out of business and turned their restaurant into a laundry mat, at the very least I would have been doing all the citizens of Dearborn Heights a huge favor!!!!!!!!!! Unless you enjoy having food poisoning, I would steer clear of this horrendous, horrendous so called restaurant. more

Wouldn't feed this food to my dog, my whole family, including my 4 year old son got food poisoning from this place, owner would not tkae responsibilty and was extremely rude and un-accomodating!! Also had a time where they screwed up my order and then treid to place blame on me. Please do yourself a favor and do not patronize this place, go just down the road to Rose Garden, believe me , you will thank me!!! more

A Classic 8/26/2005

I've been going to Red Ruby ever since I was little. The owners are extremely cordial and appreciative of every guest they get -- hard to find these days! They go out of their way to make sure your dinner is exactly the way you like it. The food is amazing, and at an amazing value! My boyfriend, who could probably eat the cab of a pickup truck when hungry, was impressed with how much food he got for the money. $7 will get you a 4-course meal (soup/eggroll/entree/dessert). You even get a ton of food with takeout and it always tastes as good as it does when it's a sit-down meal. The environment is extremely relaxed and extremely mellow. A definite A+! more

Great Atmosphere, Really Good Food! 7/27/2005

Red Ruby has been around FOREVER! It is a real family affair- the owner is always there! The restaurant itself is really nice (typical older Chinese decor with red and gold and dragons- all that's missing is Buddah!), but we usually take it out. The meals are huge and lunch is really cheap! The best thing about Red Ruby is that you can tweak the menu to satisfy your appetite. Any meal can be made vegetarian by just taking out the meat, and I always add a hot curry sauce to my house vegetables for a truly satisfying meal! The fortune cookies also almost always have real fortunes in them! I once got one that said "you have no soul!" Was that guy having a bad day, or what?!? more
