Horrible Service! 5/31/2011

Went to Red Rocks Saturday evening for dinner. Unfortunately, myself and my husband waited at our table and was never served! After waiting 10+ mins, a party of three was seated and promptly greeted by a staff member. We ended up leaving and going to another establishment. Note, it was not an extremely busy evening, in fact there was empty tables around us! I will NEVER return to Red Rocks. Based on the previous reviews for poor customer service, I'm surprised they are still in business. Red Rocks, get your act together!! more

Yummy Margaritas 6/15/2009

I am SO picky about my drinks and it's nearly impossible to find places where I actually like the bar menu. Who knew a brew pub could make such excellent drinks?! I highly recommend the margaritas. And I never say that! My husband goes for the beer, I'm there for the margaritas. Oh yeah and the food is delicious too. Pros: Best Margaritas more

Another Utahn embarrassment. 4/2/2009

Go easy with all the medals and best-in-state awards, Utah. It's still Utah. Save it. With the alcohol that isn't there, they try to mask their beer with over-powering flavors. This ""fine establishment"" also thinks that after sampling 7 of their beers of 4 ounces each, you have gone over the limit and are prohibited from purchasing their premium ""Reve"" beer. I'm sick of Utah bars deciding for their patrons what is responsible drinking. I thought their italian sausage grinder , a calzone-like dish, sounded outstanding. Come to find out, the meat is spongy and the skin is rubbery. It's nearly impossible to find good italian sausage west of the Mississippi, but this was a complete disappointment. The service and ambiance of the place was just fine, but I won't be back. The positive raves I'm reading about this place are shocking. I consider myself lucky to not be from this state. Good atmosphere, good beer, average food 2/27/2009

We were expecting great things when we went to the Red Rock. The place certainly has a good atmosphere and is clearly very popular. Perhaps our expectations were too high but we were disappointed with the food, not that there was anything wrong it was just OK. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but it is pretty steady for an ordinary (ie not a special occasion) night out Pros: Lively, good beer Cons: Small car park, average food more

Good Beer! Lousy Food 2/12/2009

The original chef for Red Rocks must have departed long ago. Anything besides the hamburger is really asking too much from this chain. I had a stuffed mushroom cap that was a molten mass of tasteless goo covered in canned marinara sauce. To spare you the rest of the meal figure it safe to say eat at home before you go, unless you are in the mood for something REALLY simple. I go to red rock almost every weekend, the food is delicious! I usually order the scallops or the flat iron steak, and it is always delicous. I've also had their salads and pizzas, which are ok but nothing too special. It is usually very crowded on friday and saturday nights, which makes it extremely difficult to have a conversation. There tends to be lots of loud people drinking. They do have good beers, although usually i order wine and the wine list is rather limited. Service is adequate - it is pretty quick but never too friendly. They seem to focus more on efficiency than making you feel welcome. One complaint i do have is that they used to include a salad or soup with every entree, and now you have to pay an extra $2 to add that onto the meal, which is pretty obnoxious. It is definitely not romantic, and a better option if you're looking for a bar atmosphere. Pros: great steak, scallops, salads Cons: very noisy! more

Surprising Good Food 7/3/2008

This was my first visit to Red Rock, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It wasn't the spacious, clean, upscale luncheon experience I had, though. The staff was terrific -- attentive without smothering or being chatty. The food choices were surprisingly varied. I enjoyed the tuna pita while my companions devoured lasagna and salmon. The decor hada nice contemporary feel and it was well lit without being too bright. I didn't feel like I was in a pub but more like a great restaurant with a bar. It was a perfect choice for a business lunch. It may have a different feel evenings and weekends, but I'll be going back for lunch! Pros: Great service, Terrific menu Cons: Confusing parking more

K iller Brews and fun environment. 4/26/2008

Red Rock has been around for a long time. I have eaten there since when they first opened and I still go there about once a month. They do a decent job with their service. It is sort of casual but that is the tip they are on so it works for them. Pros: Good food and drink good price. Cons: Sometimes very crowded. more

THE BEST SALT LAKE CITY HAS TO OFFER 4/21/2008

Went two nights in a row it was so good, and both time were consistantly great! Service outstanding! Prices very modest for the quality of the food. Had the Salmon with a champange mustard sauce, and it was incredible! Would really reccomend this place to anyone who loves food as much as I do. more

wonderful for a date 3/1/2008

I have been to this location twice and it is one that I will keep coming back to. The beer selection is great and the menu is very extensive. I have had a very hard time finding good seafood in Utah but their salmon and halibut were absolutely amazing...best I have ever had. The service was what I would expect from this type of establishment. The waitress was attentive and ready to offer up suggestions. All in all a great place to dine. Terrible Customer Service 2/25/2008

We have eaten at Red Rock before and have never been impressed. We went there this last Friday night for a friend?s birthday. The waitress was terrible. We had nothing to drink with our meal because she took too long to bring a refill, at which point most of us were ready for our check, but hence she had still not brought one of our other friends her meal yet. Some inventive dishes but average service 11/21/2007

RR has some really great dishes--the new york sandwich smothered in gruyere and mozzarella, an original take on bruschetta, and the best onion rings in town--but really lacks in the area of service. I have seen several servers there combing their hair in the wait-station or drinking or eating--in plain view of customers. Their servers are clearly more interested in selling beer than they are in being friendly. Skip all the pasta dishes and instead sink your teeth into one of their creative brick-oven pizzas or sandwiches. Very poor service 7/26/2007

We ordered lunch from the office from the Park City Location. The food was decent but horribly over priced ($35.00 per person). Their staff was so rude we won't be back. Sad considering the door to our office isn't a hundred yards from them. We do lunch and working dinners quite often and a good relationship with them would have been beneficial for both of us. This place has the right atmosphere for the downtown crowd. The food and drinks are right on! Just make sure that if you intend to have mixed drinks you tell the hostess or you may end up sitting in the non-cocktail section!! Other than that - this place rocks! more

A friend recommended this place to me and we decided to eat before seeing a show across the street. Parking wasn't too bad, but we did have to pay for it. Although the restaurant was busy, we were seated quickly. Pros: Amazingly unique and tasty food and close to the theaters more

Menu covers a little bit of everything 11/12/2006

We go to Red Rock about one a month and never get bored with it. There are always fish specials and the menu has a little something for everyone. It can get a little crowded on the weekends so try to visit during lunch or on a weekday. Service is fairly quick. Pros: wide menu variety Cons: crowded on weekends more

I was surprised to find that the beer selection at RedRock is limited. I thought I would have more different beers to choose from since they're a brewery. I think they are more of a restaurant than and pub or brewery... I didn't get anything to eat last time we went, but my friends all say the food was ok; and while we shared a cheese dip appetizer, I found the bread was a bit stale and not evenly toasted. During my years of visiting Red Rock 3-4 times a year I have never had bad service or bad food. The Crusted Halibut is a must try!!!!!!!!! The best I have ever had, and prices are in the norm. Pros: Food and service Cons: Wait time can be long at busy hours more

Always crowded, but that's because it's good. Inventive sandwiches, good grilled items, always an interesting seafood option. Excellent fries. Good home-brewed sodas and beer.
