A great little shop & Female tattoo artist 11/12/2007

I had a tattoo that I got years ago on vacation a tattoo of my EX's name on my hip. I figured that living in Manhattan I would check out some of the better local shops. The local NYC Tattoo Artist I dealt with all wanted to cover my tattoo with Asians designs of a fish or dragons. Although they assured me that the tattoo would not be to large I really wasn't happy with that idea for a tattoo. I asked my employee who has a lot of good tattoo work where he goes? He said in Queens at Red Parlor & ask for Powder. I checked out their site called & got directions I went to a visit them one evening after work.It really was pretty easy to get to from Manhattan. When I walk in I met with a small cute women who was helping one of their clients and told me that she would be right with me. To my surprise this young women was the tattoo artist I was told about. Powder told me that she was in between appointments that evening and had some spare time. Powder then the time to sit down with me while I explained my situation. Powder understood that being a woman I would prefer a more feminine design. She recommended flowers with little tribal design. Powder then took a few drawings of my tattoo and a tracing for size. She said that she would have a design by the next week. When I returned Powder had a couple of designs for me to choose from. She also explained the approach she took while drawing these designs and what would best work to cover up my tattoo. Powder was great I was nervous about it hurting but she took her time and all went smooth. The tattoo looks wonderful and I will be back so that you can take the after picture for your book. I am so happy that I found the Red Parlor. While talking with Powder I discovered that she was also a female business owner like me. I told I was so very glad I came to the Red Parlour and that I was proud that I was supporting a fellow female owned business as well.\r Pros: Great Female Tattoo Artist more

Great 1st Time!! 8/27/2007

I found The Red Parlour thru Citysearch, basically...I saw not one bad review here, or any other site I visited while trying to locate a parlour where I'd be comfortable enough to step to the other side: get my first tattoo...I've had piercings, but never thought I'd have a tattoo...And then I was inspired...So it usually goes...I'm glad I chose The Red Parlour...Redd is very nice! He answered my questions, Tim did my tattoo...and he was very quick and gentle...It didn't really hurt much at all...cat scratches is the best way for me to describe it...They were both very nice. The shop is clean and they make you feel very comfortable...It's very ""homey"" in there...I will DEFINITELY be back, and i've told everone about the place. Everyone who's seen my tattoo has fallen in love with it as much as I have. Great 1st Time Experience! 6/24/2007

I never write review for anything. Ever. I actually made a citysearch acct for myself so I could write a review here. After being intimidated by one tattoo place because I was a 1st timer-I found all the positive reviews here for Red Parlour,decided to book an appt there, and it was awesome experience. Redd & Powder made me feel very welcome, charged me reasonably, did exactly what I wanted for my tattoos and I walked out deliriously happy! I would come back here in a heart beat. After I've fully healed of course! : ) Pros: Awesome customer service, excellent work, great atmosphere Cons: A bit of a hike from the subway-but that's all! more

Excellent place for your next tattoo (or first)!!! 2/16/2007

I've had 4 tattoos done by 4 different establishments and that's because, although I was satisfied with the work done, I was never comfortable with the ""customer service"", therefore I never returned. The Red Parlour was recommended by a coleague and my first visit to The Red Parlour was excellent. The staff was courtueous, open to ideas and most important patient with all my questions and needs. My experience was so good I returned for a second tattoo and found the experience to be exacly the same as the first. E-mails sent to Steve where answered quickly prior to the sessions and the work done by Powder met my expectations and then some. \r \r For those looking for a first tattoo and aren't sure where to go, think no more. Walk-ins are met with courtesy and professionalism. I'll be back there again in early March '07 and I'm quite sure I'l receive the same service as previous. For a great Tattoo and Piercing Its Powder at The Red Parlour. 1/29/2007

I love The Red Parlour Tattoo I have been coming here for years now. I always recommend The Red Parlour Tattoo to my friends. And sometimes we get all together and have something pierced or a small tattoo done. Powder has Pierced my nose, navel,nipples. And she has done 3 tattoos on me. I recently added this Sunday a Ohm with a small design on base of my neck. This way I can cover it with my hair when I want to. I asked Powder to make it similar to the Ohm design she did on my brother a few years ago but a little smaller and thinner for me. This tattoo has a very special meaning to me since my brother and I have the same tattoo now. It makes our bond with each other even stronger. This is another one of my favorite places in my neighborhood. They are very neat and clean. Powder is a great Tattoo artist and piercer she is very friendly. Why I feel that the people at The Red Parlour Tattoo are like my family I have been going there so long.\r I wish Powder and the guys all the best of everything. Hottest Tribal Tattoo by Powder 1/28/2007

Hola Chicas,\r Let me tell you this weekend was so cold I didn't want to venture out. But I was getting restless. So, I decided to get some new ink after watching Maimi Ink on TV. I went online and found The Red Parlour on 69th Street in Woodside.This is a really nice stylish place. The big guy Redd was really nice to me. I had my own design of of a tribal butterfly. I wanted something to put on my lowerback. So he introduced me to their Girl Tattoo Artist Powder. She was really helpful and actually added to the orignal design I brought in. Making my design even better. Powder really knows her stuff about Tattoo Art and was so Gentle I almost didn't feel anything. Hey! This tat is so Hot I can't wait to show it off. A Great Place for a tattoo The Red Parlour 11/14/2006

Since I came to New York from Irleand a few years ago .I have been getting my tattoo work done at The Red Parlor. I started first by having my two old faded tattoos that I got back home in Irleand covered up. I had one covered with a design of a dragon with fire and the other covered up wiith a Koi fish and water by Tattoo Artist Tim and these cover ups look incredible. I recently had a Celtic Cross done on my forearm and a Heart with my mothers name on my shoulder blade by Tattoo Artist Powder. If you want to get a Tattoo that has class this is the spot. I get compliments always on the work that I got here. The art wor kis brilliant! When my friends and family come over from Ireland this is one of the first places I introduce them too. The best tattoo art that I've ever seen!!!!!! 7/2/2006

A ton of people had recomended Red Parlour to me over the years.........so I had to go in and experience it for myself. Not only did I get new ""INK"" but I also got a number of old tattoos touched up. These guys really know their stuff! I travel over an hour and a half each way to get my tattoo work, passing at least a dozen other places along the way, thats how good these guys are! I would like to let all know that I had a tattoo done by Powder a great female tattoo artist. I wanted a dragon design on my lower back. I was getting this because I was born in the year of the dragon. I wanted something that didn't look like it was for a guy. And not something to silly either. Genital Piercing & Star tattoo 1/29/2006

My Girl wanted to have a Genital Piercing preformed. So, as an early Valentines Day gift. I was looking around for a clean place that had a female body piercer so that she would feel comfortable. A friend recomended to me The Red Parlour. So I checked them out online first and was impressed with their work. I then called and booked an appointment for her with Powder, The Red Parlour's Body Piercer/ Tattoo Artist. We met with Powder and she explained the whole procedure to my girl. This place is very professional and clean. While Powder was setting up we took a look around at their great Tattoo Designs. Needless to say the Piercing went smooth and we both love it. Great Tattoo Artist 1/23/2006

I got the best tattoo here at The Red Parlour. I had some freehand tribal design on my arm and a Cross with Rosary Beads on my Forearm done in the past two months at The Red Parlour. And I have another appointment for more work later in March. I am going Full Sleeve babby!!!! Excellent work!!!!!!!! I love them all!!!!! Redd, Powder and Tim. Everyone was helpful and professional. I will never go any where else. It is a pleasure to finally find a tattoo shop that has a mature and professional atmosphere. No skate boarders kids, punks or attiudes found here.
