I pay less with Red Oak than I did with Robertson/ Republic. And now we also are provided with FREE recycling (and its a full size recycling can). We weren't even given the option...

Didn't start off good. The can they brought me was used and dirty and the wheel wouldn't stay on. 2 weeks later they replace it. Only missed one pickup but I got my bill today ...

The Best trash service...I had a garage sale and had lots of extra stuff...they picked everything up at no extra charge....My grandmother had breast cancer so I love the fact that all the proceeds for recycling goes towards the American Cancer Society. I disagree with the other readers...Everyone makes mistakes....overall better trash service and customer service then others more

Was very excited to sign on with Red Oak. Price seemed right, recycling program was a bonus! Turned out to be a bad experience. Three consecutive weeks of no trash pick up- similar story as others on here. 1st time- so sorry, won't happen again; 2nd time- not sure why this happened, we will send a truck out to you tomorrow, won't happen again; 3rd time- office manager (who is very nice) called the driver and he says he picked up my trash when he absolutely did not. I hope someone desperate for a job gets his since he is not doing his correctly. Needless to say, I have been promised a prompt refund (hopefully that will happen more effectively than my trash pick-up) and I have moved back to my previous trash pick up service. more

Horrible Customer Service 2/9/2012

Talked with several customer service reps the past four days. They all lied to me. Finally spoke with Jennifer, the office manager, about replacing my collection bins. She said ""If you had paid the bill when you were suppose to, we wouldn't have taken the bins in the first place."" So it is my fault that they haven't rep[laced the bins, even AFTER the bill was paid. Some great customer service isn't it. The bill was paid six days ago and they charged my credit card twice. Still no refund and no bins. Everytime I called I was told the bins would be delivered the next day. Four days, four lies in a row. Let's see what happens tomorrow. \r \r Today is Sunday. Still no bins. Lies, lies, and more lies. more

Agree with other 7/12/2011

I totally agree with other readers. Mine is now over a year and I phoned many times to remove the bin. They also told me to bring it to them, ""In a car, yeah right?"" Advanced disposal told us they cannot remove red oak's bin, so I am stuck with the bin. Any advice what to do with the bin? more

They also provide free large item pick up. Anytime I've called with questions a real live person answers within a couple rings. Always on time and super friendly. One day I forgot to take the can to the end of the driveway. I heard them coming through the subdivision. By the time I got the cans around the house they were a few houses past. They backed up for me. I totally didn't expect that (I really hoped.) Thank you Red Oak! more

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM~ 2/22/2011

This company demanded a deposit on their cart and when the country of Gwinnett came up with their idiot plan of not letting consumers pick their own trash company, it went downhill fast. It has been more than 8 months and they have still not picked up their cart and they still hold my depost! You call and get no where...they say just bring it back to us! HOW STUPID! And they are way up in Gainesville not to mention that a cart that big will not fit into my BMW~ This company can go to Hell in a basket! more

Won't return deposit 11/10/2010

I no longer have RED OAK service. I've contacted them several times to get my deposit back and for them to pick up thier trash container, they have not. It's been over six months and still they have not given my deposit back. more

DO NOT USE RED OAK SERVICES 11/6/2010

Beware of Red Oak Sanitation. The service is bad, their customer service people are totally disinterested and most of the times rude. I came home this past Friday and my containers were gone. I called to find out the problem and they said I was past due but I had a current invoice that wasn't due till 12/01/10 and didn't show a past due amount. No call or notice from them about the problem and then...after finding the problem, they were going to take 2 WEEKS to return my containers. I cancelled my service. If you like doing business with a company that DOESN'T APPRECIATE your business, then Red Oak is for you!!! Otherwise, go somewhere else for garbage service!!! more

Great Company, Excellent Service 5/27/2010

I joined Red Oak after my previous company raised my rates-again! They gave me a really good rate that they guaranteed for like 2 years. They started my service the very next day, got my cart right out and they have the large recycle containers, too!! I love that they donate 100% of recycling to Breast Cancer Awareness. My wife is a survivor of Cancer and I feel like I am making a difference by joining Red Oak. Great Company! Pros: Helpful staff, spot on service Cons: didnt find them sooner more

Only missed one pickup but I got my bill today and they are back charging me for services like fuel surcharge and a franchise fee. Not Cool! Pros: Close the lid after pickup. Cons: Raise prices after you've been with them. more

I have not had any problems using Red Oak Sanitation. Anytime I have a question I call their office and receive the same curtosy that I show the staff. Everyone is very helpful. I have not experienced any price increases and have had no billing problems. Pros: They offer affordable Recycling services more

constantly increases prices and forgets to pickup your trash 11/21/2008

Today was the 4th time in 3 months that this company has not picked up my trash. When I called to ask why I was told the driver said the trash was not out when he came by. Funny, I put the trash out last night! I originally switched to this company because they had lower rates they have since slowly increased their bill to the point that it is more that i was paying with robertson sanitation. \r \r Don't use this company they will overcharge you and never pick up your trash. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND POOR SERVICE 10/29/2008

I have had service for a month. I had to first call to demand they pick up my trash and deliver a trash can - this was done ina timely manner so I thought just ahiccup in starting service but since then I have had 2 trash pick ups - the first one i had to call because they did not pick up my trash, they told me my can was not out in time but my can had been out since the night before and the neighbor who has trash servce got her trash picked up. They did not come back out then this week I put my trash cans down and they picked up the trash and the trash can but did not take the trash in the trash can when i called they accused me of lying and then told me that they had not taken my can and they would not refund the can deposit when i cancelled service. I then asked for an amount on the refund and they said no one could help me and were very rude told me to call back and talk to a manager in 48 hours. this company is rude and i would never recommend them to anyone their service is horrible and unreliable. Pros: non that i can see Cons: they don't pick up the trash more

Red Oak Sanitation price increases 8/8/2008

Red Oak Sanitation price increases are ridiculous!!!!!!!!! jumped from $41.40 to $66.00 plus a $2.40 franchise fee and a $5.15 fuel fee. Needless to say I will be shopping for a new provider. Pros: Never missed a pick up. Cons: Price increases are steep more

Red Oak lied to me. 4/8/2008

I changed from BFI last year because they had gone up on their service to over $60.00 a quarter. So I called Red Oak to get a quote. They beat BFI's price and so I changed my service to them. Immediately, the next quarter, they went up $6.00 and then the next quarter another $6.00. So now my service is back up to $60.00 a quarter. When I called they told me that Gwinnett County makes them charge $17.00 per customer and they don't have any control over that. I talked with gwinnett county and they told me to read the info on the internet. I found that Red Oak had lied. Gwinnett Co makes them charge a franchise fee of $2.40. That's all. I am in the process of trying to find better service. more
