Reality Salon & Spa

This post by Ms. Erin is a false post. Ms. Erin has not been in my salon since 2008 which was for an Airbrush make up. She did however have a friend that came in recently. The young lady booked a TRIAL for a wedding day of May 25th. She came in for her trial and started to leave without paying. When the receptionist stopped her from leaving so she would pay for the service, she stated that the owner told her that it was free. The receptionist still had her pay and told the young lady that she would contact the owner and pass on the information, which she did. I called her the next day and left a message. She called back the next day and I returned her call again. She said that I told her months ago that she could have the service for free. When I questioned her as to why I said that (sometimes we do give free services if we have inconvenienced someone ...like the service provider was sick) so having her explain why she thought it was free was important. I handle a lot of clients so I wanted her to refresh my memory. I assume by her reaction, she felt I was calling her a liar and I did explain that this was not the case and that I was just trying to understand. She proceeded to yell at me. The issue of payment was dismissed and then she stated that she was not happy with the service which was not the original issue nor was it mentioned previous to this call. I did discontinue the call when she started saying hateful things. I was really at a lose as to what was transpiring on the phone. I stand by my work...it was a TRIAL for a wedding and not liking our style of preparation is exactly why a trial is necessary to begin with. It is so we can work through what we need to change for the wedding day so the bride will feel special and beautiful on her wedding day. \r \r We did run out of time with the young lady because she was late for her appointment so last minute adjustments to her eyeliner was not possible. The make up artist did let her know that she would note on her file to thicken the eyeliner on the wedding day and the client acknowledged that this was satisfactory. \r \r I have been in business for 17 years and we are and will continue to be a leader in our industry. I have serviced thousands of brides for their special day and I'm very sorry we could not add this young lady to our success list. We strive hard at a consistent and high level of customer service and satisfaction and I hope that on the 25th of May, this young lady has a wonderful day regardless of whether we are doing the make up.\r Thank you, Cynthia Van Patten more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! I was unhappy with an airbrushed makeup trial and the owner called me a liar, accused me of trying to get my makeup done for free, and hung up on me. She left me in tears and without makeup for my wedding day. more

I started going to Reality about 13 years ago for massage therapy and they did a fantastic job of managing aches and pains from an earlier car accident. A few years ago I started seeing Beth to have my hair cut, based on the recommendation of several friends who were already happy clients. She's always on time, she does a great job and her rate is about 1/2 to 2/3 of what you would pay for comparable service in St. Louis. She also has very flexible hours for appointments. more

I have been going to Reality Salon & Spa for 10 years! Beth has always been my stylist and I appreciate the way she takes pride in her work. I always get compliments on my hair color and cut. The entire staff is friendly and makes me feel welcome there. I have enjoyed several of the spa services including manicure, massage and spray tan and I can't wait to use my gift certificate for a facial! I would highly suggest Reality Salon & Spa to everyone:) more

At the recommendation of a co-worker, I decided to try Reality Salon. That was about 3 years ago and since then, I have been going every 7 weeks! Beth is my stylist and always does a great job on cut, color and highlights. I have a lot of gray in my hair but Beth's choice of color and highlights looks very natural! I think that everyone in the salon is very friendly. I can't imagine going anywhere else and highly recommend that you give them a try! more

I've been going to Reality Salon and Spa for the past 4 years and will never go anywhere else!! The staff makes you feel very welcomed and you immediately feel like you're amongst close friends. The owner has retained stylists who are very knowledgeable in their craft whether it's the lastest style you're looking for, great color or haircare products that were personally selected for you. Beth has become my personal savior in all that is hair!! She's the best I've ever worked with and really knows my likes and dislikes. I aways walk out the door with a huge smile on my face and feeling like a million bucks! In regards to the owner; I've only had great experiences with her. She's always been very professional and personable. Go to Reality Salon and Spa, you won't be disappointed!! more

My wife used this place and found herself on the recieving end of the owners ignorant mouth. She never really liked the constant religious push from Becca and found out the hard way how mean a person can be. Cynthia is as mean as she is fake. I would sugggest using any place in Edwardsville besides these nuts. Cons: DRAMA 101 more
