Editorial review from Citysearch 11/6/2012

Would not listen, only wanted to lecture, when we went in for my son's possible concussion. Answered my question about ""what is secondary concussion syndrome?"" with, ""You can Google it"" (!). Really?! Why I am paying you? Took our CT and left as fast as we could. Found a competent doctor at Raleigh Neurology who actually knew what he was doing. Stay away!!! more

What Hippocratic Oath? 2/27/2012

If I could give this doctor zero stars, I would. Please, for the sake of yourself or your loved one, DO NOT go to this Dr./Practice. All of the negatives reviews on here are nothing but true and I can back them all up. My mom is a patient of Kapil's but this is only because he is the ONLY dr in the area who takes Neuro Worker's Comp patients. If we had a choice, we would have left a long time ago. He is not very thorough, whenever we have had an appointment we have had to wait at least an hour sometimes as much as 2 hours to be seen. Once we are in, he has clearly not reviewed anything from the last appointment so he knows what to discuss at this one. The 'nurse' is never helpful and refuses to try and solve a problem that arises. They are slightly combative on the telephone and when they get frustrated they will show it. My mother's case worker needs notes from the doctor in order for referral's and necessary appointments to be made. We began seeing Kapul in August, 2011 and the notes were not sent in until January 2012! This was only after repeated requests (which were not fulfilled) and my having to call and be patched through by the secretary to Kapul directly. He complained he was busy and had not had time, but I told him that if he can not make time for sending off simple notes for a patient so they can get further care, then he is not adhering to the hippocratic oath. I am a calm person, but it took several requests and a nasty phone call to get him to fill out the paperwork and send it in. We have had appointments cancelled on the morning of the appointment (literally 30 minutes beforehand) and we are already on our way to the doctor's office. The doctor said he was sick, but when I asked for refills for the medications she was on, HIS signature (in blue in) was on the prescriptions. Today, I was told that my mother could not get her medicine prescribed by him to her because we cancelled our appointment (but rescheduled, we are heading to a specialist-by his ok) and he would not refill it. This is what the secretary told us. Both the case worker and I called. I was just told he has not responded to the request she sent him and if I want the medication (she has been out since last Thursday, and it is a med she needs desperately) I can come in and MAYBE he will fill it. Needless to say, this has been VERY hard on my family and my mother has had a very slow recovery so to have to deal with an irresponsible, unresponsive doctor and practice has been tasking. Please, do not go here, you will not get the help you need. It seems to me he is more interested in having as many patients as possible to make more money than provide the care that is needed to help the patients he has. I hope this will help some and prevent anyone from having to go through this type of horrible ordeal. more

The Worst Customer Service 2/14/2012

I called to set an appointment today and was greeted by a someone who was very rude! She did not wish to answer any of my questions and when I asked to speak with the supervisor, she stated she handles ALL calls. I will not pay to be seen by any doctors office who hires people that acts as horrible as the RUDE lady did. I plan to list the company on my Facebook page for a month, telling all I know not to every go or refer this place! more

Never refilled my prescription 10/13/2011

He may know his neurological diseases but he does not know how to run a doctors office. I went to him because I could get an appointment quickly but once diagnosis was given, he was done with me. I called 4 days in a row for a prescription refill. No response. He does not have a nurse so if you have a question, you have to leave a message with the secretary. Wait time is loong too. Good doc but frustration level is not worth it. Find another doctor that will give you what you need after diagnosis...like the medicine he prescribed. more

Worst doctor service I have ever seen! 11/29/2010

This doctor would be great aside from the atrocious service his patients recieve. Last visit I had I saw the doctor walking out to lunch as I was walking in for my appointment that was five minutes later!!\r \r Needless to say, there were four or five patients that sat in the waiting area for over an hour until another name was called. And if you want to get a hold of the doctor over the phone don't even try! I left a message with his nurse (because you cannot leave a message with the doctor directly) and when she didn't get back to me for three days left her another message, which she was extremely unhelpful and told me I had to come in to see the doctor, when it was about my prescription that he could have spoken to me with about over the phone.\r \r After my first visit I was charged $375 for a half-hour consultation, and when I complained was told that was the normal rate. I am now having some major reactions to my medication and cannot get a hold of the nurse (of course) to speak with. The receptionist told me I could come in and schedule an appointment with the doctor. NO THANK YOU! I don't have two hours and $175 today to waste! \r \r Also the doctor himself seems good, but it was obvious after I had waited for an hour that he had not looked at my chart in a month or looked at the test results that I had come to get, which had been done three weeks ago. I realize he is busy but has absolutely no respect for the time of his patients and schedules as many as he can without preperation for each one.\r \r If you can find another neurogist in the triangle it would save you a lot of time, money, and headache!\r \r more

Head for the Hills! 11/7/2010

Hmmm...interesting. I tried 5 times to write a less than glowing rating about Dr. Rawal and each and every time I received a ""we have detected inapproriate words in the details"" message. In fact, absolutely NONE of my words were inappropriate at all. I merely pointed out the fact that this Dr. did not listen to his patients and relied on his computer diagnostic program rather than actual physical examinations to ""care"" for them. This is a rather dangerous practice to epilepsy patients in particular. Are there offensive words here. Who is controlling this board? more

Outstanding Doctor! 8/4/2009

Dr. Rawal is my favorite physician. He is kind, thorough, and completely focused on his patients. He is not overscheduled as some are, and I have only had to wait about 20 minutes when another patient needed more time. If a prescription needs to be refilled, give him plenty of time, because he will not short-change his patients by stopping between appointments to call the pharmacy. Pros: Dedicated and thorough - focused on the patient Cons: He will take the time needed for each patient more

You won't find a better doctor 4/14/2009

Dr. Rawal is awsome. He is dedicated to his patients and will do whatever it takes to find the root of your problem. I now have several members of my family that see him, and he always gives the same level of care. He is interested in preventing symptoms for my teenager w/ migraines - something our previous specialist was not interested in. His office staff is great too, always polite, and often remember our names before we sign in. Unfortunately he is so wonderful, he has alot of patients. Sometimes we have had to wait for an appointment to get in to see the Dr. (like when I needed to start seeing him as a new patient), but I would never go back to our old Neurologist. Once you start being treated by him, you will stay too! Pros: Spends as much time as necessary to find the problem Cons: It can be hard to get an appointment more

Care that makes a difference! 3/4/2009

I have been under the care of Dr. Rawal and his staff going on 3 years. I have suffered with chronic migraines for most of my life. Dr. Rawal took the time to ask the right questions and listen to my answers and my questions to form a treatment based on our conversations and his expertise. I can tell you he has given me a better quality of life by his accuracy in diagnosing me as an individual, not as an illness. My migraines are minimal and no longer debilitating. He was also able to find in his diagnoses of my migraines, I suffered from Narcolepsy. His treatment for this has also brought much comfort back into my life. Narcolepsy is a scary disease and can be quite dangerous if not treated. He is very thorough and sincere. His staff is amazing. They make me feel like family. more
