Rare Earth Store

Rare Earth has changed a bit over the years, but it is still a fun place to go to search for that unique gift you need to buy for someone special. They seem to change stock pretty frequently too, so if you see something you like, "better get it while the getting is good". The people who work here are friendly, seem to enjoy their jobs and are ready to answer any questions you might have. Pricewise this is typical Ashland-- not cheap by any standard, but to be able to shop in the plaza is going to cost you. They have a unique selection and if nothing else it is a fun store to window shop at. more

If you are looking for a place to get a unusual gift than Rare Earth is your place. The carry and assortment of small (but expensive) gifts as well as unique clothing. The store is very much Ashland. If you have visited or live in the town you will know what I am talking about. It has a flare of freshness that the whole town posseses and that makes it a great place to go. more

Rare Earth is a unique, fun shop that carries a variety of items. I was particularly looking for a gift for someone. They have womens clothing, shoes, and toys on the lower level of the store. The upper floor carries a blend of items including incense and paraphernalia, candles, mugs, rugs, handbags, lotions, soaps, magnets, etc. Each of these items in their own sense is unique and special. The fragrances are rich, oriental and inviting. They are not the common everyday items--so you want to take your time and examine each item carefully. There must be that special something in this store that would meet most of your fun gift needs or a special something for yourself. I left with a bag full of the aromas of patchouli, purification and longevity, and coconut incense and candles. HMM...smells wonderful. more
