This is REAL pizza! 12/16/2011

The problem with Connecticut is that there are way too many Greek-run pizza shops, and Greek pizza just isn't good. On occasion, you can find a good Greek pizza, but if you want true, delicious, New Haven-style pizza, go to Randy's Wooster St. Pizza in Manchester. The atmosphere is nice with all the Hot Wheels decor. The staff is friendly (sometimes slow, but friendly). The prices are reasonable, and the food seems homemade. The pizza sauce is clearly homemade. Lately they've gotten a little skimpy on the toppings (like everywhere else during this rough economy). They need to step it up a little, but overall it's a great pizza place and I will keep going back. more

I like there pizza but there meatball grinders and wicked sticks are amazing. I get that order everytime i go and the staff automactically knows what i want its great more

Randy's Wooster St Pizza Best OR Worst? 7/18/2010

My teenager loves this place but it's not our first choice 0 or even 2nd for pizza. I've read a LOT of bad reviews about it - their wait staff seems to be a real drawback and they should re-examine their personnel policies. Pros: good pizza, teens love all you can eat Cons: wait staff, bad reviews more

Great Pizza 1/30/2010

My husband and I have been going to wooster st for over 10 years! Our kids grew up on wooster st food. A couple years ago we decided to go around the hartford area insearch of good pizza (still going to Wooster for our usual saturday nights ofcourse) and we just cant find a better pizza. The crust is perfectly cooked with topping perfectly arranged. We love the pizza! Pros: Love the pizza Cons: the only draw back the breeze enters the rest when cold!!! more

Bad food, slow service, rude management 1/27/2010

It's funny how all the reviews here are either one star or five. It makes me wonder who writes those five-star reviews--they're all so glowing and happy! My experience was 1) steadily declining quality over the past few years; 2) slow service; 3) three out of four of my party getting diarrhea last time (and believe me--it will be my last time); and 4) a rude, condescending and dishonest manager.\r Eat here if you like looking at toy race cars. If you want good pizza and a pleasant dining experience, consider yourself warned. Pros: the flair Cons: the food and the service more

Best Pizza in Town 6/13/2009

Randys is by far the best pizza Ive ever had! They have a huge arrangemgent of specaility pizzas and every bite you take you taste the quality of the food. They always cook my pizza just right as they would call it PLAIN! which is a pizza with no cheese. Also the staff is so friendly they dont even have to ask me what I want to drink they ALL know and just bring it over to the table for my husband and I. They have a huge menu but I cant seem to get away from that plain pizza. Pros: Huge menu selection more

Great atmosphere and wonderful food!! 12/15/2008

I took my family to Randy's on a Thursday night (family fun night) and had a wonderful experience. The kids loved the face painting and the balloon animals while my husband and I relaxed and ate their excellent wings. They had so many different pizzas that we had a hard time chosing which one to eat. Since we could not agree we each ordered our own smalls. And yes they were to die for! The staff was very polite, the waitress espically took great care of us. We will definately be making Randy's a frequent stop for our family. Pros: Family entertainment, excellent food! more

Good thin crust pizza, terrible service, expensive, unsanitary kitchen practices? 5/18/2008

I agree with the other 1 star posters. I identify with them.\r When I ordered take out, if you like thin crust pizza, the pizza is good but the prize...\r at 2.50$ per topping.... 2 medium pizzas with 2 diff topping on each half will set you back >34$ after taxes.\r Ridiculous considering barely a sprinkle of the requested topping was thrown and they got the orders wrong the 2 times I relented and ordered again from there.\r \r I went in the rest. to eat one day and aside of the unexpected price hikes for topping most others include in the base pizza, I found chewing gum in my pizza. Yes, chewed chewing gum.\r The establishment was extremely rude and had a snotty attitude handling the issue making a show of checking with the kitchen being overly bullish and defensive (at this time I had only reported the issue). \r I carried myself quietly, politely and well mannered which only made their behaviour more appalling.\r The thinly veiled accusations and suggestions on their part that I had fabricated this and placed the cheweing gum still make me too upset to be able to write objectively. (Victor/Victoria anyone?)\r This experience was incredibly, ridiculously bad. If it hadn't happened to me I would have a hard believing this was not a joke.\r \r No refund or attempt of an apology was made.\r The food was good, but I can't stomach the idea of ever going back there.\r It also seems as if others have had good experiences with different members of the staff.\r Even upon picking take-out I have experiences different degrees of service depending on the staff at the time.\r You mileage may vary, but be warned. Pros: Good thin crust pizza, nice new establishment. Cons: unsanitary kitchen practices, expensive, (some?) rude staff more

Very disappointing... 4/12/2008

Terrible. The reviews are true. A 15 year old boy took my order and said that even though I was deleting an item and replacing it with another, it would still cost another $2.50. I gave in and placed my order. After getting the pizza, I noticed that there was no cheese on it. Who would eat a pizza that way!?!? I asked him why my pizza had no cheese and he rudely said, ""it says 'red pie' right on the menu"". I let him know that I was aware of what a red pie was, but that is not considered a pizza without cheese anywhere; I don't care where you're from. That's like saying a white pizza had no cheese and no sauce. He acted friendly (sarcastic) the whole time with a big cheesy (no pun intended) smile on his face. Maybe if Randy cared more about service than saving money by hiring kids for minimum wage, the shop would be better known. Here's a tip.\r 1) Make customers aware of what they're ordering. I'm sure we're not the first to be left without cheese on a pizza.\r 2) Hire employees that somewhat care about your business\r 3) Let people switch at least one topping without charging them full price plus another $2.50.\r I will discourage people from eating at Randy's. Besides the terrible service, the pizza was just bad. Pros: Location Cons: Service, Food, Staff, Menu more

Pizza was OK, but the experience was a case study in poor customer service 9/17/2007

My boyfriend and I recently brought our sons to a birthday party at Wooster St. Pizza, and we stayed to have a pizza ourselves rather than drop the boys off. At the end of the party, the manager approached and raised her voice to the mother hosting the party regarding the bill. Not only was the manager incorrect regarding what she thought the issue was, she confronted the mother in front of all of the guests, rather than taking her aside. After seeing this manager embarass a customer in that way, I will never set foot in the restaurant again. more

Fantastic 5/20/2006

Get the clam pizza, it is wonderful. Also, don't be afraid to order the fried pickles. It is a southern thing, but they are actually excellent. The crust is thin and chewy and they do not overload with too much sauce. Kitchy enviroment that is fun for kids. This is great pizza - don't be put off by it's strip mall location! Pros: fantastic, friendly, fun Cons: strip mall location more

Excellent place for families! 12/19/2005

If you like thin crust pizza, this place is for you! The pizza here is phenomenal, one of the best places in town. The kids love it because of all the little hot wheels cars everywhere, and you can even have your child's birthday party IN A BUS! The service was very friendly and very prompt. I had no complaints. I've been here several times and have always had a very good experience. If you're looking for a nice restaurant to bring your kids to, this is definitely the place! more
