Terrible service, mediocre food 5/16/2009

Ordered a lunch special. It was later in the afternoon but the server said it was still available. 25 minutes passed and the server said he would be right out with the food. He came back empty handed and stated ""they were out of the lunch special. I ordered something else. He brought the food for the rest of the party 5 minutes later and then said they were out of my second choice. Ordered a club-like sandwich. It came quick but was awful. O:ne of the quarters only had a shred of turkey and a toothpick sizer string of bacon fat. After the long wait and the ""third time's a charm"" order. No one offered to do anything. It was too much trouble for the server to bring the check so when we asked for it, it came and we were told they adjusted the lunch special off. Only after talking to the manager were we able to get the awful club adjusted off. No apology, it was like they were doing us a fovor by having us as patrons. I would not reccoment this place to anyone nor ever go back. Pros: Location, outdoor seating Cons: All else more

Great ambiance but food was disappointing. 5/24/2008

This is a very pleasant restaurant, and the service is very good but the food just doesn't measure up. On a recent visit we found that the fish (fish and chips) was a bit soggy, bland and not at all hot and that the burgers were dry and tasteless. The crab soup was the only item we found up to par. Pros: Very friendly and efficient staff, pleasant ambiance Cons: Food more

Not so good food 8/3/2007

Ram's Head is located in the quaint, artsy Savage Mill shopping center but location is probably the best thing about it. \r \r I ordered the seafood skewers, and it was pretty mediocre tasting. The scallops were mushy and pasty; I don't know if this means they were over or under cooked. I ended up bringing most of it home. As I was carrying it up to my apartment, I caught another whiff of it and realized it smelled exactly like roadkill-- that pungent, decaying, bitter smell near dead animals and garbage. Not very appetizing.\r \r My fiance's shrimp dish was better than mine but still not great. Her rice was pretty hard, like eating tiny rocks.\r \r Our server at Ram's Head was ""gruff"" to put it mildly. Sort of the ""so watcha want?"" kind of waitress you see at those tiny diners on tv. \r \r All in all, the food was lousy enough for me to not recommend Ram's Head. Pros: Ambience, nearby studios Cons: Food, service, prices more
