Editorial review from Citysearch 11/7/2012

Building is falling apart, door held together with duct tape, booths likewise and that wasn't the worst part. Food was sub par, and mostly flavorless. There are many, much better options for Thai food in Beaverton. \r more

Wanted to try something new as Typhoon 4/1/2012

Wanted to try something new as Typhoon closed in the Round. We're not really picky and this place was not good - tried egg rolls, pad thai, red curry, and veggie chicken stir-fry. There was absolutely no flavor to any of it. Even the dipping sauce for the egg rolls was bland and tasted of plain vinegar. Will pass on this place and go back to Peppertree Thai...not as much meat in the dishes, but there's flavor there. more

Rama Yum! 4/29/2011

This is one of Oregon's awesome ""hole in the wall"" outside amazeing food inside. For 2 people to eat for under $18 with a good tip, this place is well worth it. the food is CONSISTENT no matter what day or time you eat. We are fans of the salad rolls and Pad-Sie-Ew. more

Good food 4/13/2010

A bit hard to find. Looks ghetto from the outside. Nice and quiet. Food was delicious. Booth was put back together with duct tape. hahaha. I'll be back. Pros: delicious food Cons: ghetto place more

Glad I found this place 1/10/2010

I get take out here. This place is tucked in strip mall. It is not fancy by any means. It could stand some updating but I don't mind because their dishes are about a dollar cheaper than some ""fancier"" Thai restaurants. It is laid back and casual which I like. The service is always very friendly and not fake. Service is quick and their Pad Thai is delicious. I have told many friends about this place and intend on being a customer for years to come! Pros: Friendly staff, quick service, great food Cons: needs some updating? more

Totally misrepresented in previous review 12/4/2009

Quaint Thai place with lots of atmosphere tucked quietly in the back of a strip mall where most people can't find it. The food is authentic, freshly prepared from raw ingredients. It's like going over to your favorite Thai neighbor for dinner. The owners are usually there and chatty. You'll get a chance to browse women's magazines in Thai. Such fashionistas! Pros: Best kept secret in Beaverton Cons: ? more

Less than average 8/31/2009

Being quite enamored with Thai food I thought we'd give something new a try. There seem to be ample reviews stating that Rama Thai is a really great restaurant with authentic food, etc. Unfortunately, I found Rama Thai to be pretty distasteful. We ordered standard (checking out a new Thai restaurant) fare; Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Chicken Satay. Honestly, I can't say that any one of these dishes was good. The satay was dry and rubbery, the pad thai was congealed into one massive glob of rice noodles (although it was also crunchy as it had been burnt on one side of the glob), the green curry was really ""unbalanced"" as far as the spices. I was really hoping for a new spot to get some good curry, but this is not it. Bummer. Pros: Not at all busy Cons: Not at all good more

THAIRIFFIC Cuisine 8/28/2009

In the last 3 weeks I've been to 3 different Thai restaurants in Beaverton. (Typhoons, Thailand Restaurant, and Rama Thai). I ordered the Pad Thai noodles at each establishment and, hands down, Rama Thai was the best. No comparison. At the other places the dish was just way to sickly sweet. (Like candy.) Rama Thai had just the right amount of sweetness, was full of flavor, and (most important) the chicken was perfectly bronzed. (Nothing I can't stand worse than stir fry cooking where the person doesn't know how to properly brown the meat. At the other places the chicken was cooked in its own liquid and was bland and chewy.) I could have ordered it a little spicier though. ----The Panang Curry was awesome also.----- All in all one of the few restaurants listed on CitySearch where I agreed with each and every one of the reviews. Bravo! Pros: Best Phad Thai and great Curries Cons: Obscure location more

Best in PDX 6/6/2009

This is one of our favorite Thai restaurants in town. If you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine in PDX, this is probably it. I went with a Thai friend from Bangkok and he told me this was his favorite in Portland and better than quite a few places in Bangkok as well. more

sweet sensation 1/2/2009

Each menu item has its own positive touches. The pad thai has a very chewy and flavorful touch to it that makes you want to go back for more. The beef salad slightly grilled, and slightly flame broiled, has a very tangy but scrumptous flavor to it all. The service is also very fantastic, water is filled when necessary and also the portions of the food are extremely reasonable for the price. Feels like a boutique restaurant and family oriented atmosphere. \r \r Must try! If the food is not worth your money, email me and we shall have a talk. \r \r Go thailand!.... I'm Korean by the way. more

BEST Thai food in the WORLD! 11/10/2008

finally found the best thai food in the world. i ABSOLUTELY love their ""Kang Pah"". no other Thai restaurant sells Kang Pah. Please bring many friends to this place - it really deserves the business! It's located in a place hardly anyone can see from the main road (TV Hwy), which is a real pity. \r \r Very fast service, and the waitresses are VERY friendly and sweet!\r \r Pros: very tasty food, good price, rare selection of thai food, great service, very fast Cons: none! more

Best Thai Curry I've had, Excellent Service and Value 8/17/2008

My family has been going to Rama Thai for years. During that time, the food and service have both been consistently awesome. Rama Thai's entrees and curries are just superb. They are authentic too. Order anything but the yellow curry (Ka Ree Kai) and you had better be prepared to handle some heat! The vegetables are fresh and they prepare tofu better than anyone. We're vegetarians and don't have many good dining options around here, but Rama Thai really stands out. This isn't to disparage their meat dishes, as our friends who order their meat dishes absolutely love them. I just wanted to emphasize that this is a great place to go if you are a Thai-food loving vegetarian. The Kang Ped and the Kang Keo-Wan are excellent, as is the fried rice and the appetizers. They also make a mean pumpkin curry. Another thing I like about Rama Thai are the large portions at affordable prices. We go for dinner, and then have enough leftovers for another meal at home, all for half the price of Typhoon. The staff at Rama Thai is also just the best, very friendly - and the same couple of people. If you go here, they will get to know what you like and how you like it prepared. The only slight negative is that I do not think Rama Thai makes the best Phad Thai in town. I'm a big noodle lover, but I'm also very picky about food in general. So I go elsewhere for noodles. Rama Thai makes good noodle dishes - they just aren't the best - not in the same class as their curries. This is not enough to earn them 4 stars, however. Rama Thai is 5 stars all the way! Pros: Food, Service, Value, best curry in town Cons: Only a ""B"" on the noddles more

Best khao soi outside of Chiang Mai! 8/7/2008

I stumbled across this place accidentally and I'm very glad I did. For those who got hooked on the divine combination of crispy and spicy noodles, curry broth, chicken, veggies and pickled Chinese mustard in the North of Thailand - this place delivers the khao soi you've been waiting for. I will certainly be making the trek back out to Beavertron to try the other dishes sooner than later. So far, I'm very impressed with the flavors, freshness and authenticity. Great place. Pros: Khao soi, service, value more

The BEST Laos/Thai food you'll ever find!! 3/29/2008

I'm Laos, and this restaurant has the best Laos/Thai food. It tastes just like my Mom's cooking. I love to eat and I've been to many Thai restaurants but NONE compares to Rama Thai. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who loves to eat authentic Laos/Thai food! If you like ""Americanize"" Thai food, this place is not for you. If you like real Laos/Thai food, you will not be disappointed. more

So under-rated, so sad 2/20/2008

Unfortunately, americans go for flash over flavor and like sheep to the moon, to bad thai resturants because thats what they've heard about - enter typhoon where even the staff dont correctly pronounce the entrees. This is an obscure, badly located resturant with the best thai food left in the state. If you question that for a second - take a look at the specials, which are written in Thai. \r \r Sadly i think this place wont make it much longer. authentic places never do. There used to be an outstanding Thai place on beaumont, you know it's good when every Thai PSU student can be found there daily. It died. I guess their pad thai was unfamiliar to the olive garden patrons. \r \r i highly recommend you get a group together and try this place before its gone and all you have left are chain places at mall food courts. Order everything off the daily special and share with your friends. Unfortunately this place is getting a reputation for being cheap and having big portions. The innocent owners have even put up bad newspaper reviews that emphasize this. It is cheap. It is also better at three times the price than anything you can get at an expensive McThailand in the pearl. If you understand taste does not equal price, this is the place for you. If not, stay at typhoon. Pros: REAL thai food Cons: beaverton, location, atmosphere more

Best Thai in the Portland area!!! 1/24/2008

I've eaten at several Thai restaurants and I think this has to be one of the best spots in all of Portland. If you like Thai Peacock downtown, then give Rama Thai a try... you'll be throughly impressed! Pros: EXCELLENT food, very prompt, great service Cons: The resturant is on the small side. It's also can be difficult to find. more

Top of Beaverton Thai curve? 9/6/2007

Of the many Thai restaurants in Beaverton this may be the best. Very hard to pick from the Lunch Menu because of so many good options. Authentic cuisine and friendly, courteous service. \r Pros: Authentic, fresh, interesting and relatively inexpensive food. Great service. Cons: Beaverton? more

Authentic Thai/Lao Food 7/13/2007

This is a good place if you want to try Laotian food. It is one of the better Laotian restaurants in Portland--yes, I realize this is one of those Beaverton stripmall treasures. The menu has traditional Thai food and also not-as-easy-to-come-by find Laotian cooking. Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly. more
