More than what I expected. 6/3/2011

Ok. so previously I had read so many reviews from different sources and I saw a pattern of fun for kids, but the food was so-so. I had a party of 12 so made a reservation to avoid not being seated on time especially it was Memorial Day weekend. I scheduled for 4pm. The atmosphere was soooo fun! The kids with ages ranging from 15 months old to 6 yrs old while the adults were in their late 20s to mid 50s greatly enjoyed everything about it. The volcano cake calls were soo fun and got everyone in such a hyped up mood. The kids loved the animatronics as did us adults and it was just really a great time. There was also a cool animated 'night sky' above our table and to the sides of us was a huge aquarium and the other a 'wishing well waterfall' i suppose you call it. :) We were very comfortable there and before hand, we all knew not to expect too much from the food. If it matters, we are very accustomed from our culture with very flavorful dishes. One family member ordered pot roast, very risky, and to his delight and mine! yes I had to try, it was amazing! Delicious and tender! Each one of us and the kids loved the food. I was very pleased! Even with all this commotion and the crowd of Memorial Day weekend, we were attended well by our server JJ. He did a great job handling the party of 12, fulfilling our requests, and keeping the two tabs in order. Anything we asked, he was very pleasant with. Great job to him on customer service. That would've played a huge part on returning and we will be visiting again soon! The price I think is mid-range. I believe with all that's provided, the experience, the food, all this was definitely WORTH the price. Oh there is also an adventure ride! This you have to pay but it was such a fun , fun, experience for the kids and adults that rode it. Also, drinks at the bar were real good!! mango mojitos were on point! Super fun restaurant!!!! five stars!!! more

Bathrooms 2/21/2011

The atmosphere was wonderful; the food was great. However, while I didn't go in there, the men in my company (all of them, including my 2 year old grandson), told me how the mens bathroom smelled like a port-a-pottie. The establishment is too nice to have nasty bathrooms and someone should do something about it. more

It'snot about the food 5/7/2009

This place could serve you cardboard and it would still be THE place to go with your kids. The attractions like the fish and monkeys will keep them so wide eyed and focused that I think it's a must if you are in town (with kids). The food is actually good too which was a surprise the first time I went to a Rain Forest Cafe in Katy years ago. The only bad part is that you really have to buy a souvenir when you are there and they are pricey. Pros: the atmosphere Cons: the wait more

Lots of fun! 9/6/2008

My boyfriend came from Seattle for a Labor Day weekend to Texas and I took him to Galveston. I have never been to Rainforest Cafe and knew we had to go. We got there early and were seated at a really sucky table without a view of the restaurant, but when asked to seat at a booth we were moved promptly. We got a great view and had fun watching all the kids be amazed by the elephant and such. The drinks were awesome, the food came in on time. It was OK, not great, I did not like it, to be honest, but my boyfriend did. The waitress, I forgot her name, was very nice and attentive. And even know I did not like the food, we had a lot of fun and were well taken care of, especially after a bad experience we had at Joe's Crab Shack the night before. It is pricey, but its not a place to just eat, it is more place to have fun while eating. And I can only imagine what their monthly electric and water bills look like. It was fun, and the store is really cute :) If you are going on vacation and you, or your guests had never been, I would recommend it :) more

Fun Atmosphere and delicous food 8/29/2007

I took my niece and nephew there for dinner with my husband. We had a great time looking around the restaurant. There was a wait to be seated, but we were entertained with the outside games and juggler. They also have a Build A Bear workshop located in the restaurant. The food was really good! I ordered the ribs, and they fell off the bone. They had a great kids menu that kids were happy with, and their lettuce wraps were awesome! The best part was the volcano dessert! If you go be sure to try that!\r \r \r Great family experience, good service and tasty food! Can't wait to return. Pros: food, atmosphere, service more

way over priced 4/25/2007

When you go there take a lot of money, you are going to need it. every thing is a lacarte, I had the potroast\r it seems like it was cooked a week ago and it was microwaved when I order it, dry and it has the microwave\r teast, and when I asked for a bread I was chrged for it !!! \r the fajita is any thing but. no teast and the price is not right.\r The Volcano dessert is very good but at $12.49 it better be. Pros: service, ambience Cons: price more

presention of food was good but just to expensive for my family 9/4/2006

The food was average but was over priced. Called ahead for lunch at 12:30 and was seated when we arrived. Good service for lunch. Had a good time but spent to much money on the meal..... more

I Loved It!!!! 5/3/2006

The Rainforest Cafe is probably my favorite place to eat, i have been to 3 different one's in the 3 different states and i have to say that this is the best out of all of them. We have a 2 year old son and he was in awe of everything, he loved it. it was probably the best time we have ever had out to eat as a family, just because there is so much for the kids to see and have fun with. The water ride was awsome and i fun thing to do while you are waiting on you table. I would definitly do it all over again. Pros: Good Parking, Water adventure, Food more

I really do not like a monkeys jumping on my table and birds screaming while i am trying to chew on my shrim. I almost had a heart attack when the tropical storm came! i mean if you are a kid or want to bring your kids to a cool place this is the where u need to go...but i am not a kid or have them and this place is just way too noisy. Not my kind of nice dinner time. Food is way overpriced and very little portions. The service is poor since the place is so huge and they have so few waiters. Our food took forever to arrive.I am glad i went but i will not go back. Pros: nice, original, tasty Cons: , overpriced, slow service more

I am so very pleased with everything at the Rainforest Cafe. I was hoping to receive a coupon, so I could take my grandchildren. The meals are very good and I can get the girls to split a plate. Pros: good food, great for kids, great for adults more
