Wehn a stray we took in with no identification became more of a family member, we decided to take him to Rainbow since it was closer than our other dogs vet. They were very friendly, checked for a chip and gave him the necessary shots. As a dog who likes to roam, he recently was viciously attacked by other animal(s) and suffered sever lacerations in his hind legs and scrotum. Wrapped up in a blanket we took him to Rainbow. They could not have been more geniune with their care. He underwent surgery and they were able to guide us through the entire period of his recovery. It is not an easy time for anyone to see such animals suffer. Both my wife and I felt like all the staff at Rainbow was routing for this dogs recovery. And being extremely worried about every little thing, they were always open to a phone call or a quick visit to ask advice. From a financial standpoint, when they brought the bill, I almost felt like they were timid to disclose it. The charges were extremely fair and I was suprised at how low they were for such a catastrophic injury. There is no question, the doctors not only saved this dog, they earned my business for a family pet that has been to only one other vet in five years. My wife and I have no problem recommending this vet to others. I didn't know the previous owners but I welcome the new ones. more

Dr. Metzger and his staff are wonderful. My dog came in for a teeth cleaning. They took excellent care of her, and her teeth were brilliantly clean. They did not push extra services on me and were genuinely concerned about the health of my dog. Thank you, Dr. Metzger and staff!! more

Our pets have been patients of Dr. Wuele for over 15 years and we've always had great results whenever one of our pets had any type of ailment, or needed surgery. The staff is very friendly and really care for the animals like no other hospital we've been to. One of our dogs had Parvo as a puppy, and the emergency hospital Doctor didn't think she'd make it. We took her to Dr. Wuele, and although he couldn't promise us that she'd make it, she did. His staff took very good care of her, gave her all the love and attention she needed to make it through. She also had knee surgery there, that turned out great. She is now 8 years old and is doing fabulous. Thanks Dr. Wuele & Rainbow Vet. Staff! more

I found a great Vet who was real world and knowledgeable at Rainbow Vet Hospital in Burbank (Dr. Metzger) after consistent terrible experiences at Crown City Vets. He is close to retirement and is genuinely committed to taking care of pets, not making profits, marketing, or increasing patient flow at the cost of care. If you ask the right questions and he does not have another pet waiting, he will tell you everything you want to know about your pet without feeling rushed. It also did not matter to him that I would unfortunately not be a regular customer because I moved to out of state soon after I switched to him. Just before I left, I brought my dog in again to update her vaccines and certified her safe for air travel. She accidentally released her bladder while getting her shots out of a fear/shock instinct. Some urine got on Dr. Metzger & the vet tech and it got all over the consult table, her chart, and the freshly written up air travel paperwork. Dr. Metzger and the tech were not ruffled by this, cleaned it up without complaint, made a new chart for her, and filled out the paperwork all over again, which really impressed me, showing compassion and patience to a dog who was scared and needed his care! It turns out that one of my friends that grew up in Burbank took his family dog here ~10+ years ago regularly. He said that the vet hospital was consistently cordial, attentive to his dog, and had no complaints. I believe that his vet at the time was also the benevolent Dr. Metzger. more

This is the best place to take your pet in or around Los Angeles. Our dog had a tumor and we searched all over the place for a vet that would remove it without all the additional charges and add ons etc. This vet cares about animals. They are super nice and they WILL NOT RIP YOU OFF. We were able to bring our dog right in and they removed her tumor right away because they could see she was uncomfortable- thank you! Compassion is the key word. We were going through a lot and the finances were a big deal at the time. They gave us a reasonalbe price that we could afford and let us make our payment in two parts to ensure we wouldn't go broke before Christmas. They are so cool! I can't say enough about what a blessing Dr. Metzger is. Make sure you tell him beforehand if your dog may bite. Even dogs that never bite their owners could pose a threat to a vet or vet technician. Our dog had never bit before but she was so scared she made the vet bleed. i felt so bad because he was a saint. He made me want to become a vet- what a superhero. What makes Rainbow so cool is you don't need a pot of "gold" to pay for an appointment for you pet because they have a heart of one. :) more
