WARNING this place will RIP you off. \r \r I bought a pair of ice skates for my daughter and counted on the staff to assist with the sizing. I told the associate that my daughter wears a size 6 1/2 shoe. The store did not have any size 6 1/2 ice skates in stock. The associate went to the stock room and handed my daughter a size NINE. They told me that NINE was the correct size. I purchased the skates, which cost me over $300.\r \r After taking my daughter with her new skates to her local rink in Clearwater, my daughter s coach said the skates were clearly too large and that they were NOT sized properly. It has since been verified that My daughter s ACTUAL size IS 6 1/2!!\r \r I requested RDV to exchange the skates as it was their staff that incorrectly determined the size.\r \r RDV has done NOTHING to rectify this situation and will not even return my telephone calls.\r more

Great Birthday Party! 3/10/2008

I recently took my 9 year old son and his friends to the Ice Den for his birthday party. My son loves to skate so we thought this would be a fun day for him and his friends. We took 14 kids and had a private locker room which was right next to the ice. The boys loved being able to skate and come back to the room for a snack. To make things easier for me, I got an upgraded Pirate themed package which included everything from table covers, plates, napkins, cups and even the decorations and food. It was VERY easy for me to plan. They even provided a staff person to help feed all the kids, get skates on, and answer any questions we had. The 1hr and 45 min on the ice was long enough to wear the boys out, but they had a blast! I would do this party again in a heartbeat. Pros: Fun for the kids, easy and hassle free for Mom! more

Skip the private birthday party room, but the skating is fun 1/26/2008

Birthday skating party: For $270 we booked a birthday room at the ice den for my daughter's eighth. I was able to deposit by phone and order three extra pizzas, which was convenient. There is a 16 person minimum for parties and they supply two pizzas and two different soft drinks. They do NOT supply plates for the pizza or cups for the pitchers of soda that they bring which I found very wierd. I paid extra and they brought me some. Our ""Private room"" was a tiny, claustrophobic locker room near the ice rink. They provided two bare tables (no tablecloth, birthday decorations or napkins) and the service in bringing us the pizza and soda for the kids was very slow. The impression that I got was that they do hundreds of birthday parties and treat the kids and parents like they are on an assembly line. Pros: rink is nice Cons: staff indifferent, overpriced more
