Went to the Stephanie Street Store on 11/27 (Saturday). Spoke extensively with salesman Eric Nielson on a television they had on sale. He was knowledgable and friendly, seemed to know his stuff. Towards the end of our conversation he told us that "the price was actually mismarked, the t.v. was on sale for $1,795 and not $1,999 as it said in the showroom." Great!
My boyfriend and I wanted to take a day to talk it over before buying, and we asked if Eric would be in on Monday (the store is closed on Sundays). He said he would be. I asked Eric POINT BLANK to his face if the $1,795 price would be good on Monday when we came in to purchase the t.v., and he said it would!
My boyfriend went to the store Monday afternoon 11/29 (today). Eric wasn't there, and he wanted to buy the t.v. and make sure Eric got the credit for the sale. Guess what? The price went up to over $2,200, the sale ended Saturday, and they won't honor the $1,795 price we were quoted! My boyfriend talked to someone who apparently called and spoke to somebody higher on the chain, and they won't budge.
Hello, we were PROMISED, to OUR FACES, that the sale price would be honored if we came in and bought today! Either salesman Eric N. lied to us, or he didn't know the right answer. We would have purchased the t.v. on the spot Saturday if we had known the price would go up Monday. We don't know what happened, but we will NEVER purchase anything from RC WILLEY ever again. They just lost a $2,000+ sale from us (as we were going to also purchase a dvr at the same time). They have also lost countless business from any future purchases we would have made, as well as those from family, friends, and co-workers. Lying to your customers is generally not a good way to do business.
