French Braids 1/26/2010

Bernie recommended that I try the Boston Braid when I told him that I wanted to make another French Braid quilt. The Boston Braid is in the book French Braid Obsession (which he carries). This quilt calls for 4 small and 4 large braids around an 8 1/2 inch center square --- the medallions that he has work perfectly. The braids consist of 9 colors and the rest of the quilt is made of small and large unpieced borders. Bernie went out of his way to help me choose the materials. The finished quilt is lovely and now my husband wants another one! Pros: Great pattern and quilt more

What a phenomenal find 6/30/2009

We stopped in today to Quilting Essentials and I have to admit...I'm not sure what I expected. Quilt stores can be great or a real disappointment...this one knocked it out of the park. Not only was the fabric selection excellent but the staff was very helpful. My SM and I picked out fabrics in no time for my next project and the owner was there to give advice. Not to mention the excellent cookie of the week. Pros: great selection, helpful staff Cons: not a large sign...can't wait for it to be bigger more

Simply Delightful! 6/11/2009

From the moment I arrived with Nathan & my two children, we were made to feel like family. Bernie happened to be out front and kindly opened the door for us and quickly went about finding a band-aid for my daughter's bleeding finger. Pros: Friendliest Customer Service Cons: Not sure they do their own machine quilting on-site. more
