Authentic, delicious, reasonably priced 4/24/2010

We've eaten Ethiopian food in Addis, Auxum, and other places in Ethiopia and have eaten at every Ethiopian rstaurant in Denver/Aurora save for two that we will eventually get to. We keep coming back to Queen of Sheba. It's about as authentic as you can get and Zewditu has the best injera. Service is excellent, the prices are way reasonable, and the atmosphere is enough like being back there so if I just close my eyes, smell the aromas, and listen to the music and hubbub in the kitchen, I could almost.... Pros: Everything Cons: ??? more

Love the Food and the people!!! 3/3/2009

You have to try it. The spices, the flavors...This place is to die for more

Never disappoints! 2/1/2008

I love this hole in the wall eatery. Everything from its inspired and daring menu to its wonderful staff/owner/cook, I look forward to every meal I have here. The portion sizes are generous and well priced, the wine is inexpensive and complimentary, and the variety of menu items are alway cooked to a perfection and unmatched in other local eateries. While I hope it stays quiet enough for me to always get great service and a table, I hope that others get to experience this wonderful restaruant. The ""Queen"" definitely keeps it real and I feel lucky to call this my local favorite. Pros: Wondeful food Cons: Expect to wait for your food--definitely worth it though! more

Food like Mom makes (if Mom were Ethiopian) 7/4/2007

Zewditu (the owner) makes all of her food with love - love for her customers, love for making good quality food. Eating there is like going to Mom's for a home-cooked meal. Her food is my comfort food. Almost anything you order can be made as mild or spicy as you like. Whether carnivore or vegetarian, you are guaranteed to get a meal that is tasty and unusual, but very satisfying. Be warned - this is ""hands-on"" eating. You don't get silverware, except to pack up your left-overs. In almost a decade of regular dining, it always puts a spark in my eye, just to say its name. The food is personalized in a relaxing atmostphere of Mom's (or Grandma's) kitchen (without Mom telling you to keep your elbows off the table!). The moderate prices are balanced with an abundance of food (besides, left overs always taste better the next day). Attention coffee lovers: Ethiopian coffee is roasted and ground in-house with each order!! In a day and age where customer service is often a learned skill, at Queen of Sheba, it is the rule of the day. It is natural, it is effortless. Pros: Home made food in a friendly atmostphere Cons: This is not ""fast food"" - each entree is cooked to order & takes time. more

Best Food EVER! 9/7/2006

This is by far my favorite place to eat. The food is amazing. The orginal owner (who makes the best food) is going to be back in busniess starting September 19, 2006. She is from Etheopia and makes the best food ever. I recommend this place to everyone. more

Awful food and customer service 7/7/2006

We have been to a few ethiopian restaurants and have loved the food. This place however was a disaster! The food was cold, bland, stale, and unedible and the service was also cold and stale. We did not get our requested water or service with a smile. Needless to say, we will not be returning and we will not be recommending this to anyone!\r \r Queen of Sheba STINKS! Cons: everything more

Well, it used to be great! 7/20/2005

This place was greally great but has changed owners and is now merely alright. Find another place! more

stuff 3/8/2003

this place kicks ass, the service there is always prompt and friendly, and the cook will make anything the way you like it...it's a fantastic place! Pros: inexpensive, great service, great food! Cons: somewhat small, kitchenlike more

A tiny winner! 3/3/2003

Eating at the The Queen of Sheeba is like being invited into someone's home. The food was excellent, the service was friendly. There is something wonderful about hearing the veggies for your dish being chopped minutes after you order. Although this restaurant is an hour from where I live anytime I am in the area I will be back. It is great food! Try it I promise you will like it! more

Excellent & Inexpensive 11/29/2002

For those not prepared for an unusual dining experiece with delicious food, go elsewhere! We have eaten here over the last 5 years, and have watched as the atmosphere improved and the food remained consistently wonderful. Yes, there is no silverware, yes, the food can be spicy and different from the norm, but even a novice palate knows when something tastes good. Highly recommended for the food, the ambience is fun, but the service can seem a little laid back. Try it, you won't be disappointed. And all for well under $10 - $12 per person! Pros: great food, inexpensive, good parking Cons: service can be slow more

awsome ethnic food 11/25/2002

Nothing bothers me more then people who complain about stuff they don't know about. If your looking for traditional ethopian, this is the place. I have eaten ethopian all over the world (including ethopia), and this was some of the best I've had. If your looking for an adventure in food I would highly suggest the Queen, you must try the wot, it's truely awsome. Pros: very traditional, staff was friendly Cons: parking more

Like Indian? Stick with that. 11/4/2002

Went there for lunch the other day, and you can see why Ethiopian's are stereotyped as being skinny. The portions were small and the type of bread served takes some getting used to. Go for the experience, but not necessarily to be satisfied. more
