Best

Loved it. The person I went to dinner with also loved her meal. The chocolate dessert (perfect for two people) was to die for! It is our new favorite restaurant.

Worst

Great food and atmosphere, but I don't think they put any alcohol in their margaritas. $7.50 for a non-alcoholic margarita?

Awesome Little Spot On East Side 6/21/2006

We tried this place after reading good reviews on here. The food was awesome. Portions were great. Very Flavorful. Great little outdoor seating area. Pros: Everything more

Sweet Jesus Nectar! 6/7/2006

Going out for Mexican food in Portland is usually a really depressing experience for me and my lady. The food at Aqui was tasty, creative and extremely good for the price. We had the chorizo and goat cheese quesadilla and some kind of pork rib goodness that was mouth watering. Both meals came with lots of tasty little side dishes too. Pros: ambience, taste, value Cons: charge for chips more

We just moved into town, and were looking for a good mexican spot. We went to aqui because of some good reviews on citysearch, and were not dissapointed. Great ambience, friendly staff. Don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, but also don't expect your glass to get empty; very attentive staff without being obtrusive. Food was great. We had the nachos ans recomended, and would recomend them as well. Can't say about the margaritas, as we had none, but the strawberry lemonade was great. Go to aqui. Pros: Ambience, Food, Outdoor seating more

Try the nachos. 3/30/2006

Good Mexican can be hard to find in Portland, but I found my new favorite restaurant last night when my boyfriend and I went to Aqui. We had the nachos (which I'm still craving this afternoon), and the Chicken Poco Loco. Their hot sauce is incredible! The nachos were absolutely delicious, and the margaritas were lovely (in marionberry, mango, strawberry and one other). I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It's absolutely fantastic. more

Our New Favorite Place to eat!!! 3/18/2006

We came upon Aqui by accident and we were pleasantly surprised! This place is fabulous!!! We can't say enough good things - the food (especially the enchiladas & tres leches cake), margaritas, service and ambience were second to none! We can't wait until the patio opens this summer. It's great to see a successful locally-owned business run by two young women! Pros: food, ambience, service more

Off night? 3/12/2006

My nephew and I went here based on the glowing recommendations and we were disappointed. We both ordered enchiladas and we were both unhappy. Ambience and service were both great but the food wasn't up to it. The flavors were off and disconnected. Pros: service, atmosphere, price Cons: food, small more

Excellent! 2/24/2006

Ambiance is cool and hip. Prices are an excellent value for a sit-down meal. I was told the portions are huge so hubby and I split a burrito and that was plenty. I have two little kids and they split a kids meal leaving a few bites to spare. My family of four got out of there for under $20 including tip. That's how much we spend at Burgerville and this dining experience is far beyond fast food. Pros: Delicious, Great value, Cool atmosphere Cons: None more

Amazing. 2/24/2006

The staff is super sweet, the drinks generously poured and food plentiful on the plate. There is a fireplace in the back that you can grab if you get there early. The food is classic and diverse at the same time. Parking is decent off of 12th but traffic outside can be trying. Overall the food is delicious, the staff accomodating the and price moderate. Pros: food, staff, price Cons: traffic outside more

the best kept secret in town! 12/18/2005

This place is amazing! They have wonderful food; the mexican chop salad with green goddess dressing is my favorite. But everything on the menu is heavenly, especially the house margaritas. They truly are the best in town! I can come here with my husband for a romantic dinner, with my two pre-school age children for a harried lunch (there is a nice selection of kid-friendly toys at the door), or with my book group for dinner and drinks. The service is excellent, the ambiance is wonderful and the food is to die for. Pros: atmosphere, service, great food more

Upscale Mexican food in a great environment 12/7/2005

We loved this place - had my favorite dish (chicken encelada casserole) just like my mother makes! Food was very fresh and kind of upscale Mexican food - you don;t go hear for a burrito bigger than your head or for $.59 - the Pollo Poco Loco was awesome as was the chips and guac. My wife said this was the best margarita she has had in Portland. Expect to pay a little more but for the quality it is so worth it. Cool staff, very friendly. Pros: food, food, staff more

Very Good!! 9/13/2005

I just ate dinner at Aqui and had great service, drinks and dinner. The ambience is casual and relaxed, lots of cool Mexican artifacts, and the service was friendly and prompt. The margaritas were freshly shaken, chips'n salsa were fresh to order, and portions were hearty, prices were right on. I had fish tacos and they were the best I've had in town! We sat in the front patio and enjoyed the evening but there is also a groovy lounge for rainy days ... I highly recommend Aqui. Pros: Inexpensive, Big Portions, Great Service more
