Best

My husband and I agree, this is the best Italian food that we have ever had. We actually live in Nashville, TN but love to go to Chicago for fun. Quartino's atmosphere and friendl...

Worst

This is on the tourist strip and is full of tourists. It is so loud. The food was average at best. It simply was not a comfortable experience. Cons: Too loud

Terrific Food, Fun Environment! 7/11/2006

From the moment you walk in the door you feel as though you were transported to Italy. The atmosphere is eccentric and vibrant! The food is excellent and the servers are courteous! Everything I have tried on the menu has been suberb, my favorites being the Pepperoni Pizza, Parma sandwich and the Gnocchi. I also appreciate the fact that the prices are extremely reasonable! I highly recommend Quartino to anyone looking for a fun experience! Pros: Food, Service, Valet more

Great good, great prices, great experience!!!! 7/10/2006

Best dishes (and prices) in Chicago, great location, either for lunch or dinner, excellent wine list, and great desserts. Great experience. Pros: Excellent food, you feel like if you were in Italia Cons: Sometimes is too crowded, is that a con though? more

Best Pizza anywhere - Best Lunch Sandwich 6/28/2006

Holy cow is the food here good. The price is outstanding for the portion size. The lunch is superb! Go try their pizza - my favorite is 4 cheese + Sausage and peperoni. The spreads are fantastic!!! more

GREAT FOOD - EVEN BETTER VALUE!! 6/26/2006

I have gone to Quartino's a few times now and each time I have been amazed by the food and service! This is a very cozy place to have a nice sit down dinner with friends and family. Be prepared to share plates. The portions are very good and the prices are even better. The wine however was the best value. The were not kidding when they said ""WHERE THE WINE IS CHEAPER THAN WATER!"" Pros: WINE IS CHEAPER THAN WATER - go before heading to the bars - Fill up on inexpensive food and drinks! Cons: Can get crowded - Make reservations! more

good Italian for good price 6/21/2006

My friends and I went to celebrate a birthday and had a good time. We like to try new restaurants in the city and this one was one of the best so far. Pros: food, service, price Cons: noise, crowd on Friday night more

Great Bartender Service-Eric 5/12/2006

I am writing in regards to our bartender that served drinks to us while enjoying a night out at Quartino. First off, he was pleasant. When we sat down he offered us a drink right away. I wasn't quit sure what I wanted so he made me one of his specialties...a Pomogranite Martini...man was it good. Usually at other restaurant/bars they either look at you like an idiot when you ask them to make you something or they make you something gross. So thank you. I believe the bartenders name was Eric. He was smiling the whole night and made our experience there so pleasant that we will be returning again and recommending Quartino to many many of our friends. If you guys read this, tell Eric he's a great asset to your restaurant! Otherwise I hope this helps viewers. Pros: Friendly, Fast, Tasted Great more

Perfect for a fun night out with a few friends! 5/10/2006

I love sharing small plates with a couple friends, sipping on great cheap wine, socializing with witty and funny waitiers, people watching at hectic restaurants, and enjoying the sights and sounds of downtown Chicago so this restaurant was perfect for me! I went with two friends, and we ordered a couple plates at a time (about 7-8 plates total), as to avoid ordering too much at once and becoming prematurely full. The food came out about 5 minutes after we ordered each plate, and the waiter was eager to see which selections we'd order next. I can see how it might get hectic for large tables, but going with just a couple of friends was perfect. I wanted to try everything on the menu! My favorites were the veal meatballs and prosciutto. The prosciutto was only $4, cheaper than what you could buy it for at the grocery! Pros: Great value, Broad menu, Fun courteous waiters Cons: Small tables more

Just Great! 4/6/2006

I went there for dinner, waited for an hour (eventhough we had a reservation!). But once we were seated, loud it might have been, the waiter was friendly and attentive. The dishes were small portioned, good to share and everything was fabulous! I loved it so much that I went there the next day for Sunday brunch! I've returned there several times afterwards, and tried almost all of the dishes. Everything is tasty (especially the clam linguine, salmon and the margherita pizza) and the wines are cheap and good!! Avoid Friday and Saturday b/c it gets way crowded and loud. and eventhough you have a reservation, get ready to wait at least 40 minutes! Pros: food , server, price Cons: long waits, gets loud more

great new find! 2/25/2006

I used to live in Chicago and have quite a few favorites, and this will be one of my newest! Great atmosphere--loud and vibrant (not for a romantic night out). Service was fast, with very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Everything is served to share (the ""small plates"" concept). We had a group of 4 and had about 8 different things. Especially tasty was: the pizza, the gnocchi, veal meatballs and the spaghetti with duck. great wine list, too! Enjoy! make a reservation--this place is BUSY!!! Pros: sample various foods, fun atmosphere, wine Cons: loud more

Favorite in Chicago 2/16/2006

This place was rockin. The atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly. The pizza was the best i have had, and I have had a lot. It was anything but bland. The crust was perfect and the sauce and cheese created a perfect combination. The staff knew a lot about the wine and recommended great pairings with our small plate selections. This new place has now become a favorite. more

Great time! 2/5/2006

I recently visited this spot with some family from out of town. We had a BLAST! The food was great, the wine was wonderful, and the service was very helpful. While you're here, be sure to check out the bathrooms for a surprise! Pros: Cheap Valet, Fun Atmosphere Cons: Slightly Noisy more

New favorite Restaurant 1/26/2006

I completely disagree with that last review. My boyfriend and I went here on a Monday night a few weeks ago, not knowing what to expect since the restaurant was fairly new. We were seated right away and our server came shortly afterwards. She was very helpful in explaining how the menu worked as well as the different wine options. She was very attentive to us and gave us some great menu recommendations. Everything we had from the fondue appetizer to our affogato desert was delicious and affordable! I can't wait to go there again! Pros: affordable, great food, excellent service more

Smashed in a booth and ignored. 1/19/2006

I thought this restaurant was awful! First of all many of their 4 person tables in the restaurant were barely big enough for 2. Our waitress made it to our table twice in 3 hours. The service was slow, the layout is poor, they try to cram too many people in too little a space, and the food was just mediocre. Our server in the bar on the other hand was fantastic and even came to our dinner table to take a drink order on one of the many times when we were abandoned by our server. Pros: Not too expensive, Cheap valet Cons: Awful service, Horrible seating more
