It fit better before - unwearable now 5/27/2010

I dropped off a dress to be taken in a size at the waist. It wasn't exactly a simple job (otherwise I would have done it myself) due to the ribs sewn into the material needed to align at the seams. The dress fit and looked significantly better before the alterations - now the ribs do not align and look ridiculous, she also unnecessarily took it in at the hips so the dress *clings"" so tightly to my butt that it rides up to mid thigh as I walk causing terrible bunching at the waist. In general, the dress went from being a knee length classy cocktail dress to something more appropriate to stand on the street corner. I checked to see if I could let the seams back out myself but too much of the fabric has been cut away. I do not typically write poor reviews - as I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt - but after I expressed my disappoint she was incredibly rude. Although she did offer to try to fix the alterations I needed the dress for the next day and I do not live in the area so I do not have the time to have her work corrected (she had the dress for 15 days). I paid her half of the amount she estimated - which I felt was fair due - after all the dress is no longer wearable by me. She proceeded to follow me into the hall of the building screaming at me and telling me I was a bad person and would have a bad life. And now I am left without something to wear tonight. Cons: terrible work, expensive, rude and slow more

Terrible Service -would strongly advise against using! 7/10/2008

I visited this lady several times to alter my wedding dress. She didn't pin the dress to decide how much to take in, but marked it with chalk. When I went back to collect it, I was horrified as it has been taken in far too much! 4"" total. Like many brides I had lost weight & was ligther than when I first went in (a size 4), but the dress would not do up. The lady accused me of having a different bra & that is why it wouldn't fit. Which was not the case. She asked me to remove it, then forced the dress up, so all the skin on my back was squashed & I could hardly breathe. I was on my own & couldn't see in her tiny mirror what it looked like. I was so upset I just left to try it on again at home & decide what to do. paid her nearly $100 for the terrible work & left. more
