Horrendous customer service at the Lakewood (West Colfax location) Quality Auto Sound. I initially went in to have a simple iPod connector installed. It turned into a difficult nightmarish process from the beginning. Once it was installed, I thought I was in the clear. Wrong! I've been back twice in less than six months to have it repaired/redone. The craftsmanship is shoddy. And the customer service is worse. Today a lady behind me threw a hissy fit, complete with cussing, yelling and threats, over the poor customer service she was receiving. I didn't try this, but apparently acting like a fool gets you somewhere because she was moved to the front of the line. If you're up for a frustrating and low-quality experience with a built-in guarantee to return time after time for repairs, then this is your place! You'll be in great company; there are always fellow unhappy customers in this store. Run away to a better company, fast! more

QUALITY AUTO SOUND 12/29/2011

Went into Quality Auto Sound on 72nd and Federal for my son's christmas gift friendly salesman sold me a $385.00 ampifyer asked him if I could return it if I got the wrong one or if he did not like the product was told YES repetedely not once was I told I could return for a store credit. If I was told I could return for a store credit I would of walked right out. Is this ETHICAL I pay with cash and when I want to return unopened with reciept and one day later and all I get is a store credit. Who does this can someone at CORPORATE answer me this. Is this the only way you can get customers by forcing them to get store credit. I DONT WANT STORE CREDIT I WANT MY MONEY BACK !!! When I returned to return my unopened item the salesman attitude changed was very rude and unfriendly go figure lure you in with friendlyness, lies and deciet and then everything changes when you need help. I WILL TELL EVERYONE NEVER TO SHOP AT QUALITY AUTO SOUND ALL THEY DO IS LIE STEEL AND DECIET YOU. more

got stiffed!! 9/24/2011

Went to Qa in lakewood in colfax and and got one 12"" inch kicker, decided 5 days later i wanted to upgrade and return my first system. Ernie Valdivies upgraded me to 2 12"" kickers charged me the protection plan like 3 times for some reason. like its not like the subs were not usable, they just put them bk on the shelf for sale??? Then went back and upgraded again, got stiffed again with all these bs charges. Remove sub-40, remove amp-40, install subs-40. Installed the wrong wiring and then said the new kit was 80 dollars, went in the next day, after taxes another 200 dollars. I feel like i should have been treated like ""NENE"" of the nuggets, but i wasnt. Told my friend to go there, he spent 600$, then i went in after that cuz they said they would give a discount if i had ppl come in and use my name. Got told ""well its already on sale so we cant"" which is bullll shiot. I blew 1600$'s and am still not happy. I still am waiting for all my discounts they ""said"" they would give me. All lies. told me it would take 1hr the last time i was there to switch it out the subs, ended up waiting for there. Ernie just wants ur money. All these reviews are bad, and say the same type of bs, maybe you guys should hook ppl up more for spending so much money!! Still waiting for my discounts ""QA"" :) more

Terrible Customer Service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5/28/2011

I contacted the store on Colfax today and the associates were more than helpful getting me set up with a Ipod connection for my 2007 Honda Accord. However, they also told me I needed an adapter, which I purchased at there suggestion. When I installed the Ipod connection it became very clear the adapter was NOT needed. I completed the installation myself without the adapter, and everything worked great. I then attempted to return the adapter to same store it was purchased from a couple hours later and ended up speaking with manager who refused to refund me for the adapter even though it was still sealed in the un-opened packaging with the receipt in hand. It was only after some discussion that he offered me store credit. Even after I explained to him I only bought the adapter because his staff informed me I would need it. This was also confirmed by his employee, and still all the manager would offer was sore credit. This would have been fine if purchased stereo components regularly, as I do not this was completely unacceptable and clearly poor business practice. I can honestly say with this situation unresolved I will never purchase anything from ?Quality Auto Sound? in the future and will be very vocal about the poor customer service to my friends, family, co-workers, etc... more

Westminister Location Scammer 11/7/2010

On 7/22/10 I purchased a Viper Responder 350 alarm system from sales rep. Robert Ayala Invoice # 47695, for my 2006 Ford F150. The purchase price started at $249.99 and after all of the upgrades I ended up spending $436.52. I denied the upgraded exchange warranty, which would have been another $59.98. I figured the factory warranty would be sufficient. The alarm came with 2 transponder fobs, one was the 2 way with LCD screen on the front and the other was just a 4 button 1 way. Less than a week later My 1 way transponder key fob broke at the end where the keys attach. I preferred to wear the 1 way most of the time because I did not want to scratch the screen on the 2 way. I took it in to Robert and he told me that that was considered physical damage and that there was nothing that he could do about it. I asked to speak to his manager and he said that he was not in. I left that day and tried to get a hold of corporate head quarters to try and get in contact with a regional manager, I did get a phone number for regional manager and I am sorry I do not have his name or contact information but it was a Hispanic male name, out of the Lakewood Colfax Location. I left him a message and of course no one ever returned my call. On 08/11/10 I went to the store again looking to resolve the broken key fob issue and I was able to speak with William Devon Skelton AKA Devon Skelton. He proceeded to tell me the same thing that Robert Ayala had told me, about it being physical damage and that he would have to charge me for the fob. I was not happy at that point and proceeded to shower him with my frustrations, after about 10 minutes of back and forth arguing he decided to give me a new key fob and suggested that I purchase the extended warranty in case this happened again. So I figured if the fob had broken after one week that I better buy the insurance just in case. So I did by the warranty, invoice # 47872 in the amount of 2 year warranty for $59.98. About a month later ( second week of September) my 2 way stopped working, I called Devon, he said to bring the truck in so that they could reprogram it. The Westminster location is about 30 miles from my house so I would have to wait and take it in next time I was in the neighborhood. About two weeks after that the 1 way transponder that I normally wear broke in the same spot again. So I believe but not sure that it was Friday October 1st I went to Q.A.S. while I was in the area to replace the broken 1 way fob, I did not have the 2 way on me so I did not have him reprogram it. I wanted to speak to Devon but one of the other Salesman told me he was busy with an install, I insisted that I speak with him but he would not come out, he relayed the message through his salesman that he would not be able to replace the fob and that I had to be doing out of the ordinary to break the fob and that he would not replace again. I was outraged so I left. I meant to file a complaint at that time and had not gotten around to it. The last straw came when my alarm system somehow set itself to Valet mode, it would lock and unlock but not chirp or arm the alarm. I called the Leetsdale location so that I would not have to speak with Devon and the guy at the Leetsdale location suggested that I look on line for instructions to get out of Valet mode, because my manual was at home. I tried to use the online instructions and It made it worse, it would not respond at all any more. I called Devon told him had happened and give him one last chance to make all of this right before I had to start a complaint through the BBB and other consumer advocates programs. He told me to schedule an appointment and that he would charge another $40, and would not replace the fob. So now I have a $500 alarm that does not work, my truck is a fully customized work truck that is very vulnerable at this time and I feel totally scammed especially since he sold me an additional warranty after the fact that turns out was good for nothing. more

AWFUL! 6/8/2010

How do i begin... First off they deserve NO stars but i can't do that on this site. Chris the assistant manager thinks he owns the place. He has no say and can't fix anything if stuff goes wrong, he just calls his boss. They supposedly pride themselves on customer service but he was extremely nasty and hateful towards me because my car was having problems because THEY didn't install things right. The district manager Rob is a joke, he is always on ""vacation"" and can't be bothered. This is the shadiest company i have ever come across and i advise all people to go to other places! It has become so serious that i have had to get a lawyer and am now suing them for all the damages done to my honda. Don't trust them and don't sign ANYTHING they give you. They are very good at entrapment with contracts, you have been warned. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else because it is awful and i am now spending a small fortune to get justice. Pros: NONE! Cons: everything, they steal, lie and kill your car more

Great Prices 2/3/2010

Rob hooked me up with a great system at a great price. Some car stereo stores really stick it to you on install charges. But not Quality Auto Sound. Pros: I saved a bundle more

Lie to oversell 11/10/2008

Went in to the store to buy a new head unit for my 2000 Mustang. It has a Mach system, which sounds great, but I wanted some features of a modern stereo. I'm not an expert, but I have installed several stereos with no problem. I started asking about a stereo, and if they knew how much the parts would cost, in addition to the $1 install fee on a 2000 Mustang. Pros: Quality equipment Cons: Overpriced and dishonest. more

God awful prices, and the service is horrible 1/4/2008

My girlfriend and I went into the Quality Auto Sound on Littleton Boulevard to get some car speakers installed. Because their prices were so bad I bought some speakers online to get them installed. This apparently is the same as walking into the store and taking a dump on the floor. I was passed off to multiple sales people, finally ending up with the ""install manager"" (Oddly enough, the second person who has claimed that was his title). He examined both sets of speakers and tried to make nice talk about them, but he was obviously disgusted that I would dare bring in speakers that they didn't carry. They quoted me a price which was ridiculous for 2 sets of speakers ($140). Cons: Bad Prices, Bad Service, Bad Selection, Bait and Switch, Flat out LIES. more

Jacked up prices 8/11/2007

The prices here are way jacked up, and the installs take forever. The speakers are just so so. Also, they act as though the price of things can be changed. ""How much would you pay"". Just be sraight! Pros: none really Cons: pricey more

INSTALLATION PROS. 7/29/2007

I KNOW FIRST HAND THAT ""INSTALLATION DAVE"" AND ANY BODY HE HAS TAKEN THE TIME TO PROPERLY TRAIN IS THE RITE PERSON FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE UPGRADE YOU ARE SEEKING. MY ADVICE TO ANYBODY THAT WISHES TO HAVE A KILLER SOUND SYSTEM INSTALLED IN THERE VEHICLE IS TO DO YOUR RESEARCH! IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU WANT, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT TO ASK FOR. THESE GUYS ARE PROS BUT THERE NOT MIND READERS. Pros: GREAT INSTALLERS Cons: HIGH PRICES more

Inflated prices with offered discounts are still more then MSRP! 5/17/2007

Quality Auto Sound is a business that uses bait and switch techniques. They claim in their advertising to offer incredibly low prices. What the uneducated consumer is unaware of is the fact that their pricing structure is marked far above the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP). Then they trick you into believing you are getting a great deal by offering discounts. Once the discounts are applied, the price is still at or in many cases above MSRP. Pros: Good variety of products offered. Cons: Very unwilling to provide written estimates prior to starting the job. more

Company motto: Customers are the (expletive) of the earth. 4/2/2007

I have installed stereo systems and worked with many professional installers in my life so I know something about car stereos and installation. The guys here, however, have zero customer service. If you raise one issue with the way they installed your stereo they treat you like you are the (expletive) of the earth. For example, they installed something in the wrong spot so I had them move it. Now, I have cut up carpet in the first install area. When I brought this up to the guy I worked with he actually told me that if he had known before we started that I was going to complain about these types of things he would not have worked with me. I can't speak for everyone, but in all the jobs I've ever had, if I said this to a customer I would be fired on the spot. Pros: Spend a lot of money and you might get a good deal Cons: Insanely unacceptable customer service more
